Today I was bored..

Like the rubber mallet - my kind of tool.:D

Is this a second project or is it the first one deconstructed?

Rubber mallet is used first then if that fails it is the heavy metal one accompanied by profanities.

That might still not work but I feel better.:)

Project....Second one???

I'm a man....I don't multitask! ;):D

What you doing with it then ?

This is what has turned out to be a longer term project than planned.

Once I have it properly stripped it is powdercoating and painting/polishing and then reassemble.

However I am aiming to have everything away and back by end of January at latest and then perhaps a month to reassemble and sort wiring etc so by March it is ready for the road.

All the hard work has been done with welding, machining, fabricating etc. This is about to be the good bit when everything goes back together again.

I have photos of the project from the very start where I had a standard SS and all the steps on the way through.
I'll post up pictures and if anyone is interested I will do a separate thread on the whole thing.
Having done this I now appreciate just how much goes into anyone building a special. Every little detail you change then involves 6 other modifications to make it work.

Looks like the dyson (bottom shelf) is going into that frame:rolleyes:

Spot on! :)

Wheels off the Dyson and the swingarm is a perfect fit. ;)

Added bonus is that if anyone gets too close behind me on the road they will get the front of their car valeted from the suction through what used to be the exhausts. :D

Seems every other person I am speaking to just now is looking at doing a project.
Is this a reaction to too many bikes looking like too many others or is it something that a man or woman in the course of owning a bike has to go through like a rite of passage? Oddly enough I have never spoken to a woman that wants to do a project.
Is it just men then that feel the need?

Starts to feel like the bit in "The life of Brian" when the assembled crowd all shout "Yes, we are all individuals!" :D

Will get the photos into some sort of order and put up the background to why etc between now and Xmas/New Year.
If nothing else it may give someone who has not done a project but thinking of it get an idea to what problems they may encounter en route.

Projects are good !
Everybody needs at least one.

I just need the time to get started on some of mine.
Can always find an excuse not to.

I will start with the Honda !
There. I've said it. So it will happen.

Robbie

If that means having two bikes simultaneously in pieces, then yes

I decided that was a fatal idea.
Plan is that only one bike is "off the road" or "in bits" at a time.
Realised that I am not organised enough to do 2 and invariably I would pick up a bit of bike and not be sure of what it came off etc.
Impressed you can work on 2.
Or maybe you can't which is why you have 2 in pieces? :D
