A friend of mine had one years ago in red, he wouldn't let me have a go on it the Guinness!!
There was a point some years back when i was looking at getting one.

Had one too in that dark green they did. The widow maker title was always a bit an exageration, it didn't help that it was around the time we were getting born agains thinking they could handle what was then, a grunt monster. You did have to be firm with it and remind it who was in charge but it was uber fun and not for much money. Even now you can get a good condition one with a lowish mileage and in good condition for around £2,500

The rotary damper used to overheat which affected the handling, some owners junked the damper for a more conventional unit.
Over 120bhp, which was a fair bit back then.
As Noobie has already said they are good value for money, if you can find a good one that is.
I chopped mine in for a new GSXR1000K2.

A mate of mine still runs one - banana yellow too. It's still got the original shock and rotary damper and it is paggered - he keeps saying he's going to get a new shock but never does
