Things That Annoy

Is that a working sat nav route

TB
That is Google and as I will go in the car, Google is what I will use.

It just works. Unlike the TomTom, it doesn't try to re-route you into Lorry car parks, or unmade shit roads, if you ask it to just take you home. iI doesn't seem to assume that you want to go home by the shittiest, narrowest, tractor, route possible, or that you are riding a horse.

They try to kid you into believing that it was designed for motor cyclist, by motorcyclists. That is bullshit, unless they are all trials riders and motorway freaks.

The Garmin 390LM looks like the one for me. A mate has one (given to him by Garmin, to replace an old one that stopped working, or something, years ago, or he dropped his old one and Garmin could not repair it) and I am going past tomorrow as I am going shopping (for pizzas and beer - sophisticated, me) so I just wanna check that it is not too big, and you are allowed the sheer cheek of downloading your routes to it. He is a bit disbelieving that you are not allowed this rare honour with the TomTom, but I am not given that privilege.

It does Poland as well, so I struggle to see a downside.

A bit far.

But I will give it a go as I have lots of time! And 44 miles for beer is nothing! Have to get priorates right!

Local knowledge and satnavs do not mix!

That alternative route through Bristol will take at least 25 minutes longer, (on a good day) to save 0.6 of a mile! The M5 can have its moments on a Friday night, and since you don't avoid all of the M5, you will be happily screwed! The true alternative route would be to go to Bath and using local knowledge, you can circle round it, if needed. And as I used to work in Easton-in-Gordano, within view of the M5 there is a good back way via Thornbury as well! So that proves that Google know shit-all as well, so can be included in the "GPS Don't Know Shit-All Club", with impunity!

I am in Bath

I woz going to post on how shit Google Maps had become but now sussed it.

To make the route sensible and rid it of the motorway obsession, I specified going via Wickwar. But I did not turn on the phone until well past Wickwar. So, despite being very close to the final destination, my phone thought, "Screw your final destination! Wickwar is where everything is at!" and so it went nuts on me!
It even wanted me walking the Cotswolds Way at one point!

Neck Oil - drunk by fancy pants beardy weirdos - and perry!
I'll try summit else next time (back in September for "Noises Off")

Because I use the park & ride now, I am back driving quite soon after the show. I was told to watch it on the whisky, so I was trying other stuff.

But Moretti and a whisky might be the answer, next time.

Today I saw this Frank and Percy. It was a bit gay with men kissing.

I sat in the grand circle as I could not get my usual place. Can't say I enjoyed it and would not go up there again. I think that if I can't get the seat I want, then unless it is something really special, then I just won't bother.

I had to take this seat as it was all that was available when I booked, weeks ago. I've seen some really good, entertaining stuff and it has never been that packed. Something about gay men then packs the place out. Draw your own conclusions!

If there`s one thing that annoys Dukesox it`s when people talk about themselves in the 3rd person !
Personally, it is people misunderstanding the various rules of grammar, then misquoting them.

I have been trying.

That's all.

But really, I have been trying to sort out payments on my two Android devices. After many, many goes, it might, just might, be sorted - I want this working on my Android tablet so that I don't need to get out of bed too buy shit.

The result?

Robbing bastids PayPal have charged my bank account 1p to check me out! No wonder these people become billionaires!!!

I have nothing more to say, nor give.
