If you have to ask the price 🤔🤣🤣🤣

I balanced it out as, why pay 20k for a new bike when a £2.5k bike, a decent tent, sleeping bag and camping stove meant I could tour for many years before I got anywhere near £20k.
I understand Noobs totally, I've been there and done the very same, for years I had the gixer thou for playtime and the blackbird for touring I didn't have a decent tent then either or a sleeping bag, if it was hot, I'd sleep in me boxers, cool, in my base layer, cold, in my riding gear, petrol stove to make a brew, ate when and where was available, then a rare occasion I found a cheap hostel or BnB to get a shower and wash me shreddies.
Nowadays tho, I do admit I have big Sonja and find cheap accommodation, only cause I'm gerrin on a bit tho!
I'd still do wild camping if tour I was on required it.

I've had a Vango 3 man Omega for about ten years. Excellent tent at nearly a third of the price. comes with a porch ground tray as well. I've used it in storm conditions and extremely heavy rain and it's been perfect.

Heavier than that one and slightly larger pack size, but not drastically so. Not worth spneding three times as much for a kg less and a couple of inches smaller pack size.

Personally I prefer a hotel, a hot shower, a bar and someone else cooking tea.
So do I. Better still a nice holiday cottage all to myself as a base. Apart from the sheer misery of camping under a cold, damp, uncormfortable piece of cloth and having to sit on a bog seat warm from someone else's arse, and being kept awake by the noises of shagging and farting from you neighours, I hate having to weigh my bike down like a pack horse and spoil the enjoyment of attacking unfamiliar roads.

But a good tent can be useful. I'd just rather shove it in the back of my car than on my bike.

My first night was a BnB near Ecclefechan, clean comfortable and a full Scottish breakfast, 36 nicker.
Second was a Tayside hotel near Blairgowrie, lovely oak clad place, splashed out a bit with this one, two course evening meal, full scottish breakfast again, 66 quids.
Third night was a lovely BnB in Alness, lovely landlady, got up early for me to make a full scots breakfast all for 40 pound.
Apart from differing accommodation, I really enjoyed our wee tour of Bonnie Scotland @West Cork Paul ,@Hugo Magnus ,@SHarper ,@RA5 ,@The skitz @Dox great bunch o'lads would gladly tour with again.

Likewise Bob - I enjoyed your company, and the sight of Big Sonja disappearing into the distance.

The trouble we had was finding places that could accomodate a group, that weren't too far inland from the rough NC500 bits we were doing.
