..and there might be a conference of the Lothian & Borders Roads Gestapo there too, as they seem to like that spot at the weekends (though you might be lucky if they're having a raffle again ...).

Coming from the W you might be better going via Carnwath and Peebles ?.

Mary they do some fantastic cakes, flapjacks etc. It is the Mountain Bike Centre just south of Peebles. Good coffee and tea too;) :D

that would be quite difficult Davie as I haven't even got them yet:confused:

yep - was thinking Lanark, Carnwath, Elsrickle, Peebles etc or... Lesmahagow, Hyndford, Biggar, Broughton, (Stobo), Peebles etc etc etc, to make it a wee bit longer;)

all thoughts welcomed from the posse :)

Quite fancy the Carnwath road. What time do you think we should leave Strathaven? (If you're leaving from there.)

Any other pick up points?

If you're all coming from Peebles I'll head you off at the pass ie the layby just after the big roundabout about 4 miles past Walkerburn, where you go straight on to Selkirk. Can't miss it. Maybe someone could phone me when you are about to leave Glentress and I'll get out of my jammies, into my leathers and nip up to the road end to meet you ?. If we aim to be at Hawick lunch stop for 12 we should meet here about 11.15...?

Weather looking good for Sunday !

Deffo arrangements ???

how about we meet at Peebles for about 9.45-10am,as most of us appear to be coming down from Carnwath direction there is a big car park just as you come into Peebles on the left .Then we decide from there which route to Hawick.

Those in the east/east central/fife etc make to meet at Macdonalds at Newbridge for 9am sharp, then up on to the Langwang to Carnwath,on to peebles...might bump into those from the west(arrange to meet Carnwath..or just meet at peebles:confused: )

I am meeting up with Foxy and a couple of others in Strathaven tomorrow morning and then onto Lanark/Peebles from there, just waiting on a reply from her as to what time to meet up in Strathaven.
More than welcome to tag along with us if it is not too far off your route.
9 'o' clock ish in Strathaven town center. (leave about 9.30am at the latest)

hi everyone - how about meeting in Strathaven at 9-915am then head out from there to Glentress to meet up with the others.

Mary tried to call you earlier - A71 shut again this weekend but I'm not sure where ...possibly Darvel again?

Right Strathaven 9-9.15 and aim to be over to Glentress about an hour or so later. Common Green/town centre car park. :D

Lynn,

A71 Closed between Strathaven and Drumclog from 19.00 hours Friday 19th Sept until 06.00 hours Monday 22nd Sept

Reason: Resurfacing works being executed on this road.

:)

Yip! Cant miss this one, Me and young derek have just spent and hour on the phone planning the detour around the road closure:confused: He wanted to go via East Kilbride:eek: But we have now decided Muirkirk and over to Strathaven:D

When we get to Strathaven coming in from Muirkirk do we go straight on for the town centre or right:confused: Think its straight on???:)

come off the Muirkirk road then head for town centre - either straight through first roundabout then left .....or left at roundabout then right into town centre - its well signposted (and not very big so you can't miss it)
