So arrived in Edinburgh yesterday, fabulous city, went last summer too, great weather again, meeting up with my cousin from Glasgow and his better half, been five years since I last saw them , so good to catch up!

So today the journey went down south , away from beautiful Edinburgh , we have gone out not using the motorway but some smaller a roads, don’t know if there is any Scottish border people on here, but if you are, omg you lucky bastards, did go on the A 701 towards Moffat, what a fantastic road that is, not the tarmac quality but the views and bend after bend, just awesome scenery, got overtaken by two very fast Porsche’s and 1 kit car thingy, one of those Exige thingies, he was in last position , struggling to keep up with his mates, it was very noisy too, we have now landed in a world where the people seem to have very deep pockets and unusual short arms, yes you guessed it right, we are in the Yorkshire Dales, staying in luxury boutique accommodation , Yorkshire style

And back into beautiful Cheltenham again, journey today lead us through Holmfirth and Huddersfield, I now understand things a bit better, I would be a miserable Guinness too if I had to live there, no offence lol, but no excuse really , the world is a big place, I would have walked out of there at the age of two lol, went down over A roads, stopped in Buxton, which is more like it…….

TBH I have a mate who lives in Newtonmore, I certainly wouldn't describe as a shit town, it may not be a tourist hotspot, unlike Aviemore which is a fuckin overpriced shithole, but as a base for some spirited riding in the highlands, its more than adequate. Not having all those touristy types is an added bonus.

I stayed at the gatehouse to Inverichie house (where they filmed monarch of the glen) quite close to Newtonmore brilliant area
No, Hell Estate is way further east, from Tomintoul head over the Lecht, Alford, Inverurie, Oldmeldrum, Fyvie snd you're in the ballpark
och aye, familiar territory, Peterhead, Ellon, Oldmeldrum, ridden a few good miles round that area on a few machines. Fantastic area for motorcyclists.
Nice little twisty road from Cuminestown to New Deer is a hoot and even my commute into Aberdeen (long time ago now) was fun on the bends either side of Meldrum
It beats Kinlochleven by a country mile yes, but it still is very unremarkable as a visitor ….
