The difference between owning a Ducati and being a Ducatasti..

I had a top day out yesterday, went out on the GS's with Linzi in the morning, up to Moffat, lunch and then home where I dragged the Smart out for a spin up to Hartside. Sat outside the cafe in the sun and spent time chatting to my old classic mates despite them all riding Japanese stuff as very few Ducati's rolled in :( I then spotted a rather blinged KTM pull up followed by an 848, Ian G out on his rather nice new toy with a friend of his from Greece with him. Despite Ian now riding the KTM he'd met Tasos because of a shared interest in Ducati and invited him out for a ride as he'd never ridden many northern roads. We spent time chatting about Ducati ownership and what it brought and why we had them (or not in Ian's case). despite having the RC8 I think Ian would still have owned a Ducati if he could :)

As Ian headed back north east I led Tasos down to Penrith so he could head home that way. Waved goodbye at Penrith and I hope he'd had a good day out and seen a little bit of how good the roads are up here.

The afternoon brought it home that even though there are times when we may choose to buy or ride other brands of bike the friendship you make from riding a Ducati is one thing you just don't get with other brands of bike. I'd never met Tasos, Ian is on a KTM yet somehow we'd all got together and had a day we'll remember but without a Ducati it probably wouldn't have happened.

A couple of photos added to gallery as a reminder of good times

First ride in the North East

What an experience was that yesterday!!!:)

Living in the North East for only 7 months i didnt have the chance to meet and discuss with true ducati people

I asked Gizmo-how come you have a Ducati?
His reply was simple as-"i dont want to have anything else:D"

Ducati is not a bike-it is more than eveything-its a way of living and socializing- i am sure that people like Gizmo is true DUCATISTI:thumbs:

And ofcourse Ian G!!Many thanks to his guidance, help and support-Feeling that he is my mentor-another true ducatisti even if he has a KTM:lol2::thumbs::thumbs:

Hope to meet more people and enjoy more rides in the NE

Many thanks Gizmo!!!

Nice to meet up Michael and thanks for guiding Tasos back home.
Your bike looks stunning and as usual some nice bits on it, sounds rather good too !!!

Tasos, hope you had a good ride out even though the roads were a challenge for you it will not take long to get more confident on them.

Anyway after riding in Greece you should be used to mad driving and riding !!

You will have to do the Rothbury/Kielder route next then the Lakes visit. We also have the Hawick run out which is usually a good run with a masive turn out.

Then there is the Rockjock and crews visit up this way, always a good bunch to talk Ducati with.

There were quite a few out and about on Saturday when I went up there.

I was up at the cafe again yesterday briefly before heading off to the borders on my 800ss. I was the only Ducati there yesterday when I was there.

Darlington - Alston - Brampton - Chollerford via the Military Road along the wall - Wark - Bellingham - Kielder - Carter Bar - Darlington. A decent run - I was intending to grab a few fotos, but I was having such a lot of fun I didn't bother. I got some cracking onboard video though.

What a fabulous day with a loud and fast two-valver at my disposal :D

Nice story Gizmo, I'm hoping to get up to Hartside sometime at the weekend, might see u up there!

Bikes are great!.....Ducati's are better ;-)
