That bloody relay !!!!

Came to start the bike this morning and found that the fuel pump was not priming and I had the immo EOBD fault code.

Fortunately I had moved the coil/injector/pump relay to the top of the battery box.

The relay was hot and was not latching on ignition on.

So, following my own advice I fitted a brand new relay (from my spares supply).

Ignition on, fuel pump primes, bike starts and EOBD light clears.

Is this the same relay that has failed on my 1098R for the headlight 2 times now? I think there are 4 on the bike of the same type, of which the fuel pump uses one. I have about 4 brand new spares of these and keep one under the seat at all times. (y)

Same 4 pin micro relay.
On the 848/1098/1198 the fan and coil/inj/pump ones are a royal PIA to get at.
Like you I keep numerous spares and have one in the tool pouch together with some 3 amp fuses.

I have a short length of wire to link relays out if required but carrying spares is best, relays are the most common problem I've found on both my Ducatis

OK... Barry... where did you liberate the wire from?
