TIL after watching an interview with the bank of England governor, I found out that the Bank of England has more than 240,000 bars of gold beneath the bank. When it comes to bars and banks, the standard weight for a bar of gold is around 400 troy ounces which is around 12.4Kgs per bar, which is around a million dollars a bar.
So 240 billion? Not much more than Elon musk is reported to be worth..

TIL that the law in England and Wales changed so that you can't marry/enter into a civil partnership before 18, even with parents permission. This change came into place on February 27, 2023.
