I'm a bit concerned about the problem I had on my last run out on my 999R on Sunday.
Problem was that when I arrived home, I noticed that the back box was hanging down further that it should have,. went over to have a good look,...after inspecting - thought that it had just popped out of the rubber bush under the back seat unit.
After taking of the back fender I then realized that it just cant be the rubber bush that hold's this up, there must be more to it than that.
After further investigation, following the subframe back I then realized that both parts of the subframe coming of the back just off the seat had broken off completely.
I have ridden Jap bikes for years and never had this problem,..I think that this is a major fault in the design of the subframe, and anyone behind me could have collected my back box and it would have taken them out.
After speaking with DG they told me that some of the 749 / 999 had these faults,.. and it would be replaced under warranty.
What I want to know is this,...will it happen again????? has anyone else had this problem, if so how's the new subframe holding up.
I've only did 800 miles on my Duke and getting to know how to drive / get used to it, now that its coming together I get this,...my confidence in the bike has taking a bit of a knock.
