Storm Eowyn/Owen/Eoghan etc

I use my recycling bin but only because if I put it all in the regular bin, it might get over-full some weeks. Probably not but you never know.
Essentially, I have two regular bins.

Wait. Washing stuff out to recycle it? What kind of crazy talk is that?
 
Drove 40 miles to work this morning and turned round and came back. Howling gale made work impossible. Could barely open the gate to get into the field.

Things calming down now. The pub's marquee blew away taking out a dry stone wall on the way. There had been some debate about whether to keep it. I guess that question is now settled.
 
Bit of next doors tree came down and clipped the roof on my garage on its way 🤬

We've had a spot of rain and the breeze has picked up. And now we have a partial power outage - though this is probably Miliband's fault.
The lap top charger and telly are still working, though the surround-sound bar has gone off, but the lights have gone out.

A GBNews viewer in Cumbria messaged to say that a slate has come off his roof and another one is rattling. 🫣

Recycling bin was all over the street this morning. Patio furniture being blown around the garden. That's the 1st time that's happened. 🤔

It seems to have died down now. 👍

All good here but as @Exige said we had no power or mobile signal.

In actual fact there was no wind here 😮. It was windier Friday morning before the storm arrived. I woke at 2am (midnight pee) stuck my head out the window as I like a good storm, nothing, nada, niet, rien. The trees around us were hardly moving. Went back to bed, awoke at 6.45, bear in mind were now supposed to be in the middle of the STORM OF THE CENTURY as one of the Irish red tops had splashed across its front page Friday morning, stuck my head out the window again. Nothing. Barely a flutter amongst the tree tops. But no leccy 😕. Had to drive 25km east to find somewhere with leccy and mobile service so we could get messages and assure the world we were alive.

Power was restored to the whole area around 2pm, mobile service came back around 4 ish.

Personally, I suspect it was all an experiment by the Cabal. They manipulated the weather forecasting computers to make it look as though there was going to be a storm. Then They made sure the MSM bigged it up and had everyone panic buying in the shops (they really were) and running for cover. Then They turned off the power, and the mobile service, to an entire geographical area. All to see how people react, all to see if the people can be controlled. It’s a conspiracy I tell you against the people.




ps. The shed roof’s still intact 👌.

So after all that there was no point in putting those extra weights you found in an adjacent field on the shed roof to stop it blowing away...

Winds were certainly strong but surprisingly little damage here. I have to drive across country the back way between Corbridge and Morpeth to get to work. Pretty open windswept place but no trees down. The odd limb and everywhere strewn with twigs but no more than usual after astormy night.
I think we got away lightly on the east side of the country.
GBNews reporting from Northern Ireland last night said not only were power lines down but stay cables supporting telegraph poles had been snapped or pulled out of the ground. Sounds like they took quite a pasting.
Our power came back on yesterday tea time so the pub was able to open (though beer garden looks like a war zone) so all was well.

Yesterday on one of the BBC weather forecast's after the news it said, "And of course this was one of the strongest winds since 2018." So the strongest wind since the last strongest wind.
