Spring European trip ideas

Hi all,

Advice and ideas sought from the forum massive to help with planning for a European trip.

Have enjoyed the route napoleon, down to and round the Pyrenees and some of the picos in recent years.

Looking to enjoy some better weather, great roads and European culture. Starting point is South coast, so 30 mins from Portsmouth and hour and half from Folkestone.

Be great to hear what trips you’ve enjoyed and why.

I am a bit drunk but i done through France then over the Alps into Italy, we came out at a place called Susa Italy, got a hotel then down to Bellaria to see my friends in Italy.
The Alps are awesome and it stays under your skin for ever!!

South thru France, gorge du Tarn, gorge de l'Ardeche, gorge de Verdon, over to Switxerland do all the famous passes. Home via b500.

Or decide what you would like to go see and go see it.

When do you plan to go and for how long?

Done the auvergne area a few times - great roads & very quiet.

Down to Argentat and across to Cahors all good


This year we were doing basque area of Spain again as done Picos loads but due to house move we are going to go to The Vosges now as not been before !!

Did over the alps to Italy to but I don’t find hairpin after hairpin much fun / prefer the fast sweepers

When do you plan to go and for how long?

Thinking May or June. Probably leave Fri after work and back a week on the Sunday.
