Yeah, I'll be going. Been given a full weekend ticket, including camping, as a present. Travelling down from Newcastle on Friday.:D
 
Wife booked the tickets as soon as they came out last yr so i am at woodcote b(i think) so will be there fri/sat/sun

Ohh cool watch out for my mate Angela's paintings at day of champions . She paints pictures of Vale and others and puts them up to be auctioned of at D.O.C. Vale signs all of her paintings every year and they sell for quite a bit, all proceeds going to Riders. She has done a special one of Marco this year also. They have an auction that you can bid for that gets your picture taken with Vale and then Ang paints it for you and Vale signs it. Rossi has also kept some of Angelas painting for himself and put the money into the auction.
If anybody is interested in getting anything painted, your beloved bike maybe or your kids she will do it for you. See how i put the bike first haha.

I booked last year as well
but as soon as Ducati announced stand change i phoned Silverstone and they moved me over free :D

Trish i doubt i could afford the pictures just enough left to go to WDW :lol2:
 
Catalunya, Marco Simoncelli Circuit and Sepang for us this year, so I'll be a couch fan for this one. Hope everyone who goes has a great time and sees some Brit and Duke success.

What's going on with that photo? :confused: Why have they stuck blurred grass and a 100mm kerb front of a sharp picture??
 
The different lines they were taking was weird, the ducatis looked fast as fick in the wet, for a good part of free practice rossi was 3 secs clear of everyone!!
Anyone know if they are using the new engine this weekend? It sounds stunning
 
I think Crutchlow and Redding were immense... if rumours are true of Crutchlow-Ducati links them I am delighted!

Stavros was saying Cal has already said the big red bike doesn't phase him and riding with Rossi won't be a problem...
 
Just back and am bloody knackered, great weekend, the place went mental when scott got 2nd on the last lap, think it was even louder with cal on nicky!! Only bad point(except vale) was some of the idiots booing stoner on sat night when he came on stage, i joined in with the cheering for him to drown the @@@@s out when he was leaving. have to admit watching him coming out of woodcote sideways every lap was stunning.
Ps. toselands band crash was on sat night, was rather surprised how good they were!
 
Race looked great on TV. Ride of the day for me was Crutchlow. To pass Nicky Hayden and finish 6th after his big off, damaged ankle and starting at the back of the grid shows what an amazing talent he is. He deserves a ride on a factory bike next season and I'm sure would be the first man to make the Ducati work since Stoner.
 
From what i heard, rossi is planning to stay at ducati, parish was saying vale has a bit of a bee in his bunnet now about getting the thing to work
 
Rossi probably has few options left now anyway........................Honda wouldn't have him back and Yamaha are quite happy with their lot..............
 
Silverstone

I was in the paddock on Sunday and after the race cal crutchlow came back to his motor home and sat outside.
He Put his foot up on a deck chair, got the security guy to move the fence, and sat for about an hour posing for photos and signing autographs.
The crowd grew and Cal carried on chatting and signing.
I've never seen another rider do this before and have nothing but praise for him for doing this.
Top man and hope he just gets better and better.
 
Saturday in Catalunya he was the star of the show, after qualifying 3rd the crowd went mental when he rode round waving :)

That's a bit of a bold statement.

Since 2007 the Desmosedici has proven to be a bit for a handful, having been ridden by many former world Champions (250 and GP) and GP race winners but only one rider has been able to consistently get the trophies.

  • Capirossi: former 250 World Champion and the only other rider at get an 800cc RR on the top step (Japan 2007 but most folks forget about it as Stoner got the Championship). Despite being successful on the 990 verison, Loris never really got on with the 800; although he was better than most.
  • Melandri: another former 250 champ and GP race winner. The 800 Desmo nearly killed his career and his confidence; he was regularly at the back.
  • Elias: Moto2 World Champion and GP race winner. Toni was never the most consist rider in MotoGP, but spent a lot of time with Ducati (Pramac) at the back with Melandri, however his inconsistancy shone though and he did get it on the podium twice.
  • Hayden: Former MotoGP World Champion and AMA Champ. In fairness Nicky is probably the 2nd most successful Ducati rider. A number of podiums, but not consistanly. No wins.
  • Rossi: Former MotoGP World champion, multiple wins on different bikes throughout his career. 2 podiums in 2 seasons, runs well in the wet but at other times is one of the slowest on track.
With no disrespect to Cal Crutchlow, it would seem that many more experienced riders have been humbled by the Ducati and he should try to stay at Yamaha for his deserved factory ride.
