i think it was more like one partially trained ducati mechanic ......and thats not being cruel to the guy cause i believe he was a good worker ross i believe his name is just that alvins hadnt sent him on many courses.there is still brian pilchard who does ducati on a homer basis (probably the best mechanic ive ever worked beside) and ill quite happily take up the slack in clothing and other accessories that they cant supply anymore.Scottch said:Jon,
I hope when the weather turns a bit warmer those dealers will be in for a great time!
Geoff,
You're right, Alvins were a Ducati dealer. Don't quote me, but I think they had 1 Ducati trained technician.
Cheers!
oh and as a follow on anyone desperatley needing their ducati serviced i shall now be doing ducati servicing at a fine price......am i ducati trained? well i wore a set of their overalls once and i have held a ducati pencil as well though i would say look at my quote at the bottom of this pagegordj65 said:i think it was more like one partially trained ducati mechanic ......and thats not being cruel to the guy cause i believe he was a good worker ross i believe his name is just that alvins hadnt sent him on many courses.there is still brian pilchard who does ducati on a homer basis (probably the best mechanic ive ever worked beside) and ill quite happily take up the slack in clothing and other accessories that they cant supply anymore.
still its a shame for a lot of edinburgh bikers who will have one place less to go and fewer options to spend their money on.
but lets be realistic they were mainly a suzuki dealership so if it means less gsxr`s on the road that can only be for the good:comp2:

We are more than ready and willing to look after the customers from the East of the country and relish the chance to do so. We have just taken on two more sales staff and another technician to cope with the added flow of business that is already coming through the door!
To be honest there has been many customers coming in from all over the country for some time to benefit from the service we offer.
We will be doing some kind of pick-up and drop-off service to the East Coast to make it far easier for those folks getting their machines the care they require.
Thankfully it's been the busiest "close season" we've had since we opened the store, having had such an upturn in business since the tail end of last year, the new team we have assembled are attacking this year with a whole new approach
Probably best to point out here that we are the ONLY official dealer and service centre between the dealer in Newcastle (nice blokes at M&S) and the service point of the guys in Aberdeen (nice blokes at Shirlaws).
Lastly a big thankyou to all of you that have supported us throughout the quiet season. It is thanks to you all that we are going from strength to strength so rapidly. The workshop has never been so busy (thanks for all of your effort Charlie) and sales have simply never been so good.
The rideouts are starting again this weekend (weather permitting), trackdays in May and we'll keep you informed of all the beer and pizza nights!!!!

Unfortunately I was less than enamoured when I discovered he had installed a secondary oil filter in my 996r incorrectly.
I can only hope that he has completed a lot more training since my experience.

Erm...I guess I'll be calling you in the morning to see if you can help me out with that little list of jobs mentioned above![]()

i think alvins lost theyre way with the departure of mike parker.he knew what he was doing and you could have a laugh with the guy and importantly do a deal with him.i whined that much he arranged cheaper servicing for me and it was him that made sure brian did all the work on my bike.borderduc said:I was a little shocked to hear about Anvils going under, although the Ducati side was not their strong point from my experience. It's a bit cruel to say now but they could have learned a lot from Ducati Glasgow in terms of customer service.

If Martin at Ducati Glasgow is going to do a collection service then he's just got himself a new customer.![]()
