Road Rash Queen, quite harrowing.

couldn't agree more with you there dseered! i hope the guy riding the bike is totally ashamed of himself for riding at that speed, knowing that she had no protection at all.

but..however,it does remind me of when i had a gsxr 750 slabside in 88',all i used to wear was a pair of trainers, jeans and a skoal bandit padock jacket:eek:

makes me cringe when i think about it.

I'm cringing too mate!

When I think of the clobber I used to wear when I was firing about trying to learn how to ride my old ZXR750 Kwaker!!

The very, VERY near misses I had make me shudder even now.

Reading that story makes me feel so sorry for her but very thankful I made it without serious scars or injury.

My hat's off to her, the courage she has shown is astounding.

determination

A strong girl indeed.
A stark reminder of why its important to wear the appropriate clothing for the job....larking by the pool= bikini/t shirt; high speed m/cycling= cowhide & kevlar...

a very brave young lady....a harsh lesson learnt to us all, and i sincerely hope that her story encourages others to wear suitable gear at all times.

the words are worse than the pictures. the debreeding she talks about is basically taking a specialised angle grinder to the skin my mum used to get it done to her head every so often and it was a long weekend in hospital for her and a lot of pain and suffering after for a good couple of weeks.
im the worlds worst for riding in just jeans and a leather jacket, but after reading this girls story i will seriously reconsider what i do.im quite good at putting up with pain but i dont think im anywhere near as strong as she is.

She's got a very strong caracture to live through that hell and still get back on a bike.
I always make sure my pillions are well protected and never go too fast to put them in danger.
Wearin all the gears definately saved me on 2 occasions. ;)

I am sorry for the lass, but nobody forced her to get on the back of the thing without the right protection.

She should have known better, she had all the gear at home and I doubt she would have ridden her own bike with jeans and a T-shirt. What I cant understand is why didn't she thump the rider like feck as she felt herself slipping off?

thats true paul but the rider is the one with the Full responsibility to look after his passenger.

she has one hell of a strong will !

good on her, she must have good family & friends to have got through that so well.

I agree with you Ian on that one, I always rode a lot more carefully when I had a pillion as I could live with the consequences of an accident.

Too bad she diddnt grab the b*stard by the neck he might have broke the fall, or maybe not have fallen off. Either way some one should knock the snot out of him.

Sad to see. Terrible to happen. BUT. And this is the but bit. " You roll the dice and you takes yer chance"
If I go to the shops, I have the full gear on. End of.
