Return of the SS range?

According to Visordown!
I'll believe it when I see it but I suppose it would be good for the more financially challenged rider and keep Ducati with a share of the market.

Aside from the trellis frame... separated at birth?

Can't really see them retaining the monoposto, except for in a limited edition (Superlight?) version.

Whoever did the photoshop mock up is obviously fixated with the origami styling sported by KTM these days.
I'll wait and see if it happens.

I don't like the origami either  but I'm sure that if there was another SS it would look nothing like that.

some european bike magazines are pushing the rumour mill.
they're telling something about of factory plans for a lightweight supersport replacement (around 160 kg) at the "lower end of model range". probably the usual year by year dreamings...

I quite like it, although if I'm buying a brand new Duke then I'd want it to look totally different from everything else on the roads.

Give me a 1098 anyday!

probably something's going on in the factory. mr. dominicali said (quoted by moto.it, 27.1.10): ""Stiamo lavorando sul progetto di una moto superleggera, sarà sempre un bicilindrico...." which means more or less: "we're working on a project for a lightweight bike. will be, of course, a twin."

sark ark design published, triggered by this interview, some ideas...

Dont know why Ducati dont take the 696, change the rake and trail, add a set of clip ons, fully adjustable suspension, rearsets and body work and market a new air cooled SS from that.

OK, that's slightly simplistic, but you know what I mean..... :D

I'd buy one. It would kick the arse off my SS800 and all those pesky SV650's :flash:

Because the grand plan 3 years ago was to reduce the low margin, cheaper bikes and focus on higher profit, more exclusive superbikes.....

hopefully someone has their arse well and truly kicked now and we'll see some bikes coming from them that 1) i can afford 2) don't have 120 bhp plus and 3) are nice and simple and easy to maintain :D
