Rant: Noise limits!

Well, I'm enjoying a lovely day Snetterton...cruising round at 7k rpm, because I keep failing the drive-by dB limit.

Not so bad you say...just take the termis off! Well, I would except my Diavel is totally standard...

I don't know who this rant is aimed at - Snetterton or Ducati. Either way, a road legal standard bike should not fail!

Not looking forward to the afternoon...relegated to the novices, and I'm still getting passed on the straights, so I need to corner and brake like a loon to make up for it - the pegs are taking a total hammering. And I was lapping these guys earlier...grrrr....
 
Oh dear don't think I'd have much chance with the full 70mm termis system on my 848evo
this is something else I need to remember for track days, I just did my first a couple of weekends ago, I was lucky I had my driving license with me.
 
Well, in the end I cheated...worked out where the noise was being read, and just short shifted there and rid on the opposite side of the track. Also, I ran away and hid in the canteen after every session so the noise brigade couldn't find me :)

Come the last session, all bets were off though - full power everywhere trying to get the traction control to kick in, blatant peg dragging past the marshals, power wheelies, "psyching out" instructors and guys on 1000cc's (why can't I drop this diavel???), hand dragging and generally larking about :)
