spotted some bike radio intercoms in Lidl s today priced at £19.99 ( same as these on Ebay 380079700049 )

wonder if anyones tried these out at all and are they any good. Guessing that you do actually need 2 units to be able to communicate between 2 bikes ???? or has the bottle and a half of red really messed up my power of rational thought tonight  :D

This is what you are looking at, the wine has affected rational thinking about the number you would need:rolleyes: there are specialist bike intercoms by Autocom are generally been tested as the best. If you just want bike to bike and you ride with the same person all the time then a basic one will do. The ranges vary there are some from Maplinwith massive area coverage as units and there are some bike ones as well.
I used to have one in the late 80's when they were fairly new, we went on a trip up to Scotland and it was great overtaking cars round blind bends because we had told each other that it was safe!

hmmm so are you saying I do only need 1 unit to work between 2 bikes then. was thinking it would come in handy for touring. thinking of going to Germany with Jamie next year and it would be handy for knowing how far behind I am :D

thought id just put ma tuppence worth in.
during the course of my cbt instructing and bike lessons, over the years ive used every type of radio going, all without much success.
i decided to experiment and bought a couple of handheld transceiver from ebay.
got the units at about 20 quid and ive been using them ever since!!!. crystal clear reception, massive range of coverage and the best rechargable batterys iv ever used.
these units have never let me down....ever !!!
used in all weather conditions all year round , touring with the then mrs and even used them to keep in touch wi the kids when we were at disney florida ..lol
and still worked without any problems.....amazing.
the new units look the biz but if i was to choose between 200 quid unit and ebays finest i know what id choose.
i use handle bar mounted PTT button and the little earplugs to work them.
tuppence worth over and out ! lol
