Yes I came round the corner and was confronted by Gemima Puddle Duck and her brood pottering in the middle of the back straight. Must have been scared out of their little wits, poor things. Had a great night, lots of silly crashes though that disrupted the flow a bit.

the sun doesn't go down up here until about 9pm these days, it was beautiful warm and still last night up there on the hill :)

... Your 888 man (very nice guy but can't remember his name) told me that you weren't gonna be there last night, if I'd known I would have hung off a bit more - you know; for the hero factor and all that crap!!!! :rolleyes: :p
 
What an incredible shot - a duck trying to get its kneee down....or maybe it just parked the bike and went looking for the knee slider it dropped at the chicane........

One of the 'off's last night was a pal whose brother had just persuaded him to buy a nice 748 - I think he's only had it a couple of months. Last night was his first track night and he came off at the hairpin. The last I heard (late last night) was the suspected broken ankle was in fact in one piece. Bike was kindly stored under lock and key at Knockhill and being picked up today.

It was a great night folks, it makes such a difference all through the day, driving thru etc when you know the weather is set fair. I was shattered by time I got back home, another great Ducati evening, thanks to all at DG. See you for a coffee shortly.
 
great photos ian! i love the one with the ducks - poor wee things. Shame about the offs but glad everyone is ok

Even a few guys up for some "un-official" testing. Brilliant. They probably bought a valve cap or something from the shop to qualify for an invite! You know the shop.....DUCATI Glasgow.

I also see they were checking all the bikes had brake lights. A mandataory requirement for Knockhill. Just as well the ankle is un-broken or Injury Lawyers 4 You would have a field day.

Project Imloa had the bike of the night. Beautiful. And a Ducati! Hard to spot amongst all that Japanese stuff!

Fergie, did we meet last night in the pits? I met a couple of members who came up to me after seeing the Imola, I was pretty concentrated and so hadn't really taken note of names etc.

Nope! Not at our nights - we make the rules :) (within reason and Knockhills rules of course:) )

Race faired bikes are OK - without sidestand or tail light is also OK. After all it is how my bike is set up most of the time.

It's not a DUCATI ONLY night Fergie. I haven't done one of them for a long while.

These nights are for anyone on any bike really. This helps introduce people to the virtues of our brand - handling, speed, communtiy etc.:) Plus it's nice to munch on a GSXR every now and again!!:rolleyes: :lol2:

I don't send out invites either, they are getting quite well recognised now, most see the info on our website or on one of the many posters in the store.
They are open to those who pay the fee.

It's a shame you weren't there on a bike, as you can see on the other thread - it was a blast!

I didn't know you had to have a brake light at Knockhill, there were many bikes out there last night without them, Ian (as in dseered) I wouldn't worry about it.
 
:rolleyes: I thought Martin's reply dealt with this, on nights organised by Ducati Glasgow. I for one was happy, since I turned up without either, and without knowledge that either was required. On the night, they weren't - no problem, and I'm assuming until I hear otherwise that the same arrangment prevails for all DG nights. The night was a great success, glorious weather, plenty of track time and to my knowledge not a hint of an issue arising from missing stands or brake lights.....roll on the next one :)

My apologies - I thought I was replying to a subject already initiated - by you ? Must be my mistake - Terribly confusing these forum thingies ... For me, having tried Knockhill's own track events, I much prefer the DG variety and the recent one was excellent, a view shared by all with whom I have discussed. The sun's still shining so I'm away for a dose of what really matters.

Fergie if you dont like them, dont go m8. Theyre a damn sight better than knockhills own trackdays.

2 hours of coming and going as you please for 60 quid, whereas you could go do a knockhill TD for 60 £ & you only get 4 TWENTY minute sessions, every one of which has a safety car go out for 2 laps. tyres dont get up to heat, cocks all trying to go fast as poss for their 20 min slot.

so if you dont want any one overtaking you m8, go hire the track to yourself :D

I don't give a sh*te who goes really. I have the only Project Imola in Scotland, it isn't technically a Ducati, it's british - made in Northamptonshire (in my old garage).
I just enjoy outbraking big powerful bikes into the hairpin and duffers dip :p

I remember back in the mid nighties, there was a big huha about Jap bikes coming to the DOC trackdays, but as there were many riders who owned bikes other than Ducatis, it became difficult to police.

...hey, there's a thought; I could do your next track eve Martin on my California, do I need to take my panniers off, they do tend to scrape :D :D

I love these track evenings; I come a damm long way for it, I make an afternoon of it and love the craic. I get as much track time as my poor old body can take, I always stop halfway through to eat my peanut butter sandwiches in the pits (bit of ritual now) and I get to kiss and hug Kerrie (the only reason why I come down really). It doesn't work out very cheap in the longrun, but for me life is all about doing what you love regardless.

...time to get off my soapbox now heh!!!!! :p

...and yes I do see Kerrie before I have my peanut butter sandwich. Anyway wot's wrong with peanut butter, does it make my certifiable? (Sunpat crunchy on granary to be precise)
