Funnily enough that happened to me on Monday. Stopped at a roundabout waiting for a gap in the traffic. When one came and I pulled forward the car behind slammed into the back of me. Driver blamed his car, said it had "jumped" by itself when he let the clutch put. It hadn't. It was raining, his pedals were wet and when his foot slipped off the clutch he went into the back of me because he'd been to close.

I was expecting the see bust lights and a hanging bumper because it was quite a clonk. But for the life of me I couldn't see a thing wrong with my car. I checked and checked again and the only mark was some slight scuffing to the plastic rain cover over the ball hitch where my towbar had gone through his radiator. His car, a little BMW 1 series hatchback, had smashed headlights and number plate, a split bumper and a hole in the radiator grill like a tree had gone through it.
Monday morning life lesson: leave 6 feet to the vehicle in front when coming to stop in traffic, and if you're going to plough into the back of someone, don't pick a Landrover with a towbar fitted.
I can feel my back getting stiff from here and possibly my neck tooDid you get their insurance details for the rain cover?![]()
If he'd been an arse, stinking of beer from the weekend or trying to wriggle by claiming I'd run back into him, he may have found a whiplash claim incoming.Did you get their insurance details for the rain cover?![]()

But he wasn't. He was just a young lad who'd made a mistake and come off worse. He was coorporative and apologetic and I imagine he'll soon be poorer by about two weeks wages. Sticking him for a nee rain cover seems a bit harsh.

Last year a car ran into the back of my car which luckily had a tow bar. No damage at all to mine but a smashed up bumper for him. There seems to be a side benefit to having a tow bar fitted recurring .
Would also like to point out that this guy supports pedo's so gets along well with government officials
In truth im the same bud .. i have no religion but I believe what goes around comes around.. I had a transit run into the back of my transit about 10 years ago at a zebra crossing... absolutely no damage but we were locked in transit love making... he had to cut the bottom of his transits front bumper as it had jumped up over the tow bar on mine but what I never knew is the lower lip on the front bumper has a metal rod embedded in the plastic and no matter what we tried couldn't separate the love struck transits .. luckily he was a plumber so a cordless grinder done the trick destroying his bumber in the process ... his mistake was pealing an orange then dropping it and not realising I stopped at a zebra crossing...If he'd been an arse, stinking of beer from the weekend or trying to wriggle by claiming I'd run back into him, he may have found a whiplash claim incoming.
