Mav - I think the wee lads have been doing it to him thru those long lonely nights in the north sea :eek:
 
Its something I would consider for definite. How do things work out now we have this Rosyth/Zeebruga (spelling) ferry. Rosyth is only 20 mins away from me.

Davie, no probs there you lot get on the rosyth ferry overnight! I travel Dover and meet you all at zebrugger! then we party to the ring SIMPLE:D
 
I think this year I have to do the nurburgring, I would be interested in doing the Zeebrugge crossing as I like it not having to fanny around getting down south. Missed out last year on a trip I planned which involved Nurburgring, Ferrari, Pagani and Lamborghini factory then the Monaco GP. My little girl was born 12 week early so I had to cancel at the last minute. Still my mates who went without me show me the pictures they took at every opportunity!

Mav, when you organise these trips are they bike only and car only if you get what I mean? Asking because my mate and I are talking bout going but he refuses to ride motorcycles and get his kicks from his Caterham.
 
Well martin my policy has always been never to mix bikes and cars together on my trips!

just incase the red mist was to fall and the bikers and car drives tried out doing each other!

although in reality, when you get to the ring it is a mixed bunch there anyway!

so as this would be a group "Booking" if we did a DUN trip.
as long as everyone agreed and no NOB heads spoilt it for the rest
I cannot see a major problem .
wadda you guys think?
ps it will have a TWO Tear cost though

Caterhams are so cool, I would love to go out in one, Martin ??? even as a passenger would be fine, my old fella had Spitfires and Scimiters etc but a 7, yes please !
 
Ian, next time I know we are coming up your way I will let you know and I am sure he wont mind having a passenger for an hour or two! Its a nice little car but only the 120 bhp version. He has competed in the Caterham Academy this year and is moving up to the next group this year (better tyres etc) He can make it go pretty well but is very safe on the road. He had to be cut out of it at Silverstone this summer as he got t boned by someone at copse corner. Ive always fancied one myself and kind of talked him into getting one over the years. Alas when the kids came along I could not afford another toy. Very nearly did get one 2 years back as I contemplated giving up bikes after losing a mate I was out with on the Middleton in Teesdale rd. But I got a Multistrada instead. I will have a word bout giving you a ride. I only drove it the once and its great fun but I'm not really built to fit a standard 7! They do a larger version for fully grown people such as myself. It takes me ages to actually get in his as you have to clamber in from above the full roll cage that the racers have. I had to drive it in bare feet as my wide size 11s can press all 3 pedals at the same time! For the money theres no better fun to be had on four wheels.

Mav, I will be seeing the guy with the 7 on Thursday (Autosport show) I will mention about the ring to him. Hes done it before in his 996 c2 and loved it. Hes very safe regarding bikes etc and I go out a lot with him usually with me on the multistrada and him the 7 on the back roads he is either just behind or just in front of me and I have never had a problem with his driving. He doesnt do any silly overtaking moves up the inside or anything and I feel safer having a blast with him than half of the people I used to ride with! Let us know what you think, I have forwarded him to your ring website in the past. I do however understand why you would not want to mix bikes and cars, but this chap hasnt anything to prove.

Martin, I have no problem with him coming in the car !!
as long as others don't mind (Bikes) I'm in a car (support vehicle) SO HE could always bring up the rear!

If you get a spare ticket for thursday (Autosport) show let me Know!!
