number plate size

one of my customers had his ahem r1 parked outside my shop with a tiny number plate on and for the first time that ive ever seen up here the traffic cops came in and asked who`s it was as the number plate was tiny.luckily my customer had a half size plate (proper size script but plate half size) under his seat and said hed put it on. when he put it on they told him that he now needed to get a full size plate as they were no longer allowed to turn a blind eye to small size plates due to the camera nonsense (safety cameras my arse) and told him that if they catch him without a big plate on next time they will charge him.
The guys were quite decent about it and one of them was a 748 rider so he knew what it was like from a bikers point of vue but he did say they now had to do it as the revenue cameras need a standard size to work off.
he was also good enough to let my customer off with his yoshi can which has not for road use stamped all over it but did point out a different cop at a different time may not be so lenient.

in my opinion this proves two things that most coppers are basically decent
and that speed safety cameras are purely there to earn money .

and while i dont condone speeding i personally always stay within the speed limit when i pass one but if its one on the other side of the road im driving towards. where safe i always open it up swerve across and give them the v`s when i pass my record is getting a camera to flash 8 times;) :watchout:

hummm think i read in MCN once (so it must be true) that if you were a persistant 'offender' like that with speed cameras that plod would position themselves further up the road eventually specifically to catch ya

I also heard that plod will try and find out who you are by using the DVLA database for make/colour/year/area of offence/frequency/time/clothing and when the eventually spot you they will tug you for undue care & attention cos your riding whilst waving an arm about!
