Route will be put on here this evening, looks like we will link up with Borderduc and maybe some others at Carter Bar. We will head up via Scotch Corner, the scenic route NOT the A1, then from Carter Bar somewhere across the Borders region to come back home down the West via Shap.

I will put some destinations, times for pickups on tonight as well.

Let's get ready to rumble!

fancy a bit of border raiding not been on the bike in that area will try and book days hols or swap shift for that day keep me posted
 
Brilliant roads with little traffic. Did them last year with Rockjock. 300-400 soon goes under those conditions. Count me in.

I'm keen. Why do I have to travel all that way south to Harrogate first though?
 
You don't, and I don't have to travel all the way to Northumberland either - pick us up part way round. Will post details later.
 
I am sure if we can get 20 Ducatis turn up at Shipley in bad weather we can get at least that turn up for a ride up-north next month! If you indicate you are interested we can make sure we meet you on the way at a pre-arranged time. Harrogate is the starting point at 9.am for those that can make it and we let you know the route so you can join in for those that cannot!
 
Whats the projected route I will try and pick up somewhere along the line, don't fancy mahoosive mileage at the moment though so maybe I take a direct route North then see what happens !

Hi Desmo, with a question like that I would guess you know the area. A61, South of town, near the Pannal/Spacey Houses(as was) turn off, there is a complex of Total Gas Station/Euromaster Tyres/Mercedes Dealer. Meet there at 0900. Easy to find. You're welcome to join in.

Dseered, will post the intended route nearer the time, probably on the Friday. May yet not go quite so far, will make the decision nearer the time.
 
I'd be up to join in, but the Duc probably won't be ready for that ride out so it'll have to be the mille I'm afraid...look forward to seeing the route posted I'll join wherever it passes closest to Bishop Auckland.

Just to kick start this thread again - who's up for next weekend? The first of the Sunday rides we will be doing for Harrogate, North Yorks, West Yorks riders throughout the summer.

we'll collect you en route, so you will have at least an hour after our start time - unless you really want to come down here. Scotch Corner any good? Or similar?

If you're coming up this way I could meet up with you chappies, say at Passport Control at Carter Bar..? I'll organise the bribes for your transit visas..
 
That's what I was hoping for, thanks Dave, then you can give us a guided tour of your haunts, although I know some of them already. My basic idea is to go counterclockwise, up the East via Scotch Corner and come back down via Shap.

I'll post my intended route sometime this evening then we can sort the pick-ups, times etc.
