LOL, i just noticed it on the website, i think the designer just got the plug in for photoshop that makes things look like 3D and threw the Puma logo in. I think it sums up exactly where Ducati are right now ...

I'm not sure, the new logo is running all across the website other than the "racing" area where the traditional Corse logo is still in use.

It makes all the clothing and POS obsolete immediately, have you seen any new brochures yet to see if its used there as well?

I've looked at this for a while now, and though I think the design is a bit soft,I think the main issue with it comes from the designers being too clever with the photoshop tricks. The texture and unnecessary highlights make it look pink and detracts from any impact the main design may have, hopefully it'll appear in a bolder form.
The stripe across the shield looks familiar,as if they're trying to make a corporate link with another brand, but its half hearted and a bit awkward looking, not a good feature for a supposedly 'design' led brand.

Maybe it'll grow on me,in the meantime I'll reserve judgement.

It just says Puma to me, too soft and lost it's focus

I hope the Puma/Ducati partnership goes on for some years otherwise this logo will look completely dated and out of place given the likeness

Reasons why now on the Ducati site,

Along with the line of 2009 motorcycles presented at EICMA, Ducati CEO, Gabriele Del Torchio gave the world a glimpse of the new company logo.

It is an evolution of the historic brand name, which now includes a new red shield featuring a graphic symbol alongside the classic Ducati script, making this motorcycling logo even more eye-catching and unique and communicating passion, competition and performance.

To accompany the launch of this new logo, Ducati has produced a video to highlight its distinguishing features – including the fun and passion that have always been part of the Ducati spirit.

Its said that a change is as good as a rest.

Mmmm I have to agree with Freak about this 1. I think Puma have more of an involvement with Ducati more than anyone knows about.

I hope they don't change the Ducati Corse Shield.......
