Daughter in law number two, purchased a car from Basildon (Anycar4less) on tinternet, cutting a very long story short, the car has extreme gearbox issues, dangerous to drive, infact she's actually afraid of it. So it needs transporting from Vauxhall main dealer in Hessle E.Yorkshire back to Basildon.
Can anyone recommend a transport service. Mucho apreciado

If she's rejecting it do they not have to pick it up?

Here's the thing chief, I haven't seen the contract, DIL told me she signed to say if she rejected the vehicle it was her responsibility to return it.
I asked if that included the car being in no fit state to be driven, she believed so.
Bloody kids, who'd 'ave 'em

Try NVD👍

If she’s rejecting it under the Sale of Goods Act then she should also be able to recover her costs. However, she may have to start legal proceedings to do so and that will cost more than the cost of transporting it back. There’s what’s morally right, what’s legally achievable and what’s realistic - best to be pragmatic IMO, ship it back, demand a full refund and put it down to experience.

No reflection on Bob's D.I.L. but it does seem to be the trend today. Adverts everywhere tell you to buy that car, based upon a picture.

Being a member of the Old Farts Club, I would never ever even consider buying anything with a full inspection and road test.

Young people want things easy, and can be lured by the ads telling you how easy it is - until it goes wrong, and then you see a very different side!!

Often, they will flog off the part-ex straight away, making it impossible to put you back to your orginal position, if you reject

@BobTheBounder

Sorry to hear about the woes of your d.i.l.

I read the first post , and as soon as I saw " used car " and " Basildon" I inwardly groaned .

I've gone with friends who aren't mechanically minded quite a few times to do vehicle inspections ,
but for anyone buying without help , it's really worth considering using the AA service .

It might seem like a big additional expense , especially for younger people facing their first insurance bill
but as with HPI checks ........ and the benefit of hindsight , it will look like very good value if they are
unlucky enough to end up with a lemon .

PS - Hope it all works out well for her !
