If anyone is interested my 996 has re-appeared from the depths of the barn into which it was stored two years ago, with no more than 100 miles extra on the clock!
It's in a local dealer "for sale on behalf of customer", at £3450, which is way too much, although less than the £4000 he was asking in the summer!
Brief details - I was the second owner from new, bought at 4000 miles and ran it up to the current 17500. 1999 Base model, but lots of trick (cosmetic) bits, termis, csarbon etc. Boxes full of original bits to be included I believe.
The customer is saying it has had a "recent full service" but in reality that is the one I had done on it before I sold it, so it does really need at least new belts, as it has been stood. I spoke to the dealer just to inform him of that and he does say they will do it, but that will need confirming AND checking afterwards.
