I was more interested in this bit of the article below: I haven't got my head around how an Air Sourced Heat pump is supposed to work as I haven't bothered to check due to lack of interest.

Just another classic case of a regulator regulating nothing but get paid too. It's now become clear to most British consumers that there never was a shortage of electricity, gas, petrol or diesel but more the companies and the city falsely inflating prices to gain record profits for a product they said was in short supply. Our media played it's part to and we truly do live in rip off Britain.
 
I see Marks & Spencers Energy company ( I didn't know they had one 🤷‍♂️) Are to close and thier 60,000 customers are to be moved over to Octopus Energy.

It just said on the news that inflation is due to drop due to energy costs reducing over the next 2 or 3 months :unsure:

same as the overseas food into the U.K. prices now dropping, The U.K. companies are simply not passing the drop on or passing a gnats cock of it rather than the full reduction.

I was thinking of solar - if it paid to have it installed 20 years ago and they say they are 10 times as efficient as they used to be, then it will not only pay for your electric, but your mortgage too - winner winner 🏆 :)(y)
 
My energy supplier has sent me a helpful email explaining that my current deal comes to an end at the end of this month and details what I can expect to pay after that on a standard tariff.

As far as I’m aware there are no ‘deals’ to be had with any supplier, so I’m fucked.

In character: it isn't privatisation that's done this. Energy companies are walking in lockstep with the regime and are enacting policy. These prices are a means to an end and you would still see them if energy was nationalised, or never privatised in the first case.

Sanity check: of course, Thatch was a Guinness, no argument there.
