The is NOTHING new about a Fischer heating system.Is that the new Fischer heating system
The water heater contained Phase Change materials to store heat until it was required.
For every £1 on Electric you get £1 of heat or hot water.
How much power does it use ?
less than 3 Watts or £7.28 a year.
There are a lot of items that use that or more plugged in around our place.... I think I can see where the money is going.
Wouldn’t it save more to just switch things off.
I need to audit what is on in each room....
Perhaps time switches for some things like Battery Tenders and Amazon devices.
Wireless switches to shut down power to the electric gates etc at night.
Charges for things like Garden trimmers etc.
This device will at least let me apply some pareto analysis as to where to put my efforts first.
I have a (cheapish) wifi switch that monitors power. Don’t know how accurate it is but does give an idea.
A few other wifi switches in the less accessible sockets so easier to switch them off when not being used.
Keep getting emails from energy supplier about a smart meter but I’m determined to not have that, I just can’t see how it could save me any money, regardless of how much they promote them as doing so.
The problem with replacing your primary electric meter with a smart meter is that ONLY the well established energy providers are allowed to access them.
New suppliers are sandboxed until they have been trading a while and met a few other criteria, including customer satisfaction.
If you want to be able to access all the energy (billing companies) then you need to keep your old meter at present.
All our circuits come to one power distribution point for the main house and then onto five sub-boards for the newer parts or out buildings.
This device is idea for us.

You really need to just level it and start again, look into a nice passive Huff house, no more energy bills and even the garage will be nicely dry and warm……
My coach house (motorcycles) is at 18°C and exactly 50%RHI, the garage is unheated and used to store Aircon ancillaries.

Is the electric gates comment a genuine concern, or just cock waving from your mansion?
I have heard they are up there with heating swimming pools for energy consumption. What analysis are you doing of your 5 swimming pools and 14 heated duck ponds?

On a serious note the gates are driven by large hydraulic motors, these are cycling all the time to keep the oil warm regardless of oil temperature. The software was written 25 years ago when energy conservation wasn't a consideration. So... they do actually use an unreasonable amount of energy.
