You know I probably would carry on regardless but a nosey neighbor has asked twice now if we have a permit.. first time I thought she was joking so just laughed, 2nd time I looked on line and realized the ban had started..Just burn it, what they gonna do - put it out

Burn pile gone!!! I'm now trying to convince b that we need to get rid of the peach tree.. I like trees but this one is old , ugly and the fruit looks like a scag heads face.. its a blight on the landscape..

Just painted the trim around the doors and finally put the last 4 flashings on the roof!

On weds/ Thurs just been , on the way home from work I collect half a cube of gravel each day. Gap 40 first then gap 20. Got ride of the weeds in the lean to, put weed mat down then filled in with the gavel. Today I hired a small compactor ( or whacker plate, to you poms) and spent an hour compacting, raking and compacting some more.
The result is a fairly flat , level, solid base. We will concrete over it one day but for now it's just a base for storage. I'm happy!
Would love it done in concrete but that's just more money that we need for the house itself. Also b's bro is a concrete layer so we will get him up in the future and most likely do the garage slab and paths ect all in one hit.

The base is solid enough that a bar stool don't sink in it! It's roughly 100mm deep gravel that I hosed down and compacted. Might losen
up when dry? I don't fucken know, I ain't a ground worker..
I did ask advice from one though...

Mmmmm.... crumbed chicken and bacon salad... all veg home grown. While heating the oven to bake the chicken I dried out a big bunch of basil and sage then mashed that into the breadcrumbs... fuck ton of shaved parmesan and cubes of mature cheeda..topped of with sweet Chilli sauce.. sorry @Dox But it's the nicest meal ever!!!!

I'll see what's left of the slabs when the kitchen is done for sure. But I'll most likely go for something like 8x2. 2 pieces wide, notch em around the posts and laminate em together. That's a Lil while out yet but on the cards!

When we do get to that stage, I'll put a door into the garage from lean to for easy access to the beer fridge and stereo..
This morning I had a flat battery.. was gunna get a reasonably early start to the day but it wasn't to be. B left for work half an hour before I was gunna then had to come home to jump start my car.. she works 10 mins drive away so that was better than waiting for the aa... anyhu, went to local garage and battery fucked.. $220 later.....
So finally got to work boit 9 30 ish..
Only had a few hours work to do and was gunna pick up the ply for the house floors as I'm good to start ripping up the existing floors and re-pilling..
Bee. Doing alot of shopping about trying to get ply cheap as possible.. found an outfit that hax good stuff at a good price but when I got theret his morning it was all gone..
they said they were getting more but from a different supplier.. I'm thinking, great, here comes a price hike.. but it was actually $30 a sheet cheaper!
I paid for 14 sheets which I will collect on Monday providing it ain't shit.. if it's shit they will refund me...
So as icouldnt get on ply stuff, I went and bought the guttering for the garage.
And installed it in 2 hours..
