yeah, they are going to be collectable, the 750 oro's already are! everytime i see one i get the urge to chop the 999, i just wish they'd do a good red/white blue colour scheme F4 S "america" :D

The Kay replica's are really nice, have you seen the magni they have for sale http://www.mv-agusta.co.uk/forsale.htm ?

I seem to recall reading an article on someone who was manufacturing a small number of MV's which were exact replicas of 60's race machines. Seem to remember they were expensive at first glance until you saw how much work was put into building them. The detail was astonishing. It is similar to Chris Rea building a replica Ferrari. The amount of research that needs to be done before anyone lifts a spanner is staggering. There must be tremendous satisfaction building something like that and knowing it is almost indistinguishable from the original.

Italian Bike ran that feature, the Kays are so good at replica parts that they have full factory approval to supply them as "genuine" spares for the very hard to get MV parts. when i win the lottery I'll be down there ordering one :)

there are a few companies doing the same thing, i spotted one doing Norton Rotary refurbs and builds, even some of the same staff as the original factory were working there.

If you can remember Aund Scott from the yahoo group days (where are you now Aund?) it belongs to a good mate of his.
 
Tamburini's new were about 30K, I don't think they all sold at full list initially, the Veltro Pista is about the rarest with only 23 made, list price was 46K

hmm, both have their styling faults, i hate the MV's trapped wrists problem and they no longer do all silver which would be my preferred colour choice. i wouldn't splash out 14K on a 1098, i'd have to chop the 999 and can't see what i'm getting, i'd only buy the MV cos i have always wanted one and its exclusivity not for its performance, a serie oro 750 would be different though :)

You seen this one Mike? Called the 'Amerika', I think. Produced by a german importer, and only 23 made. This one's for sale on mobile.de.

The Veltro Pista is strictly a track bike and is not road legal. It is a limited edition of 23 units, and is available as a special order only. The Veltro Pista makes significantly more power and torque than the standard F4 with a far broader spread of power. The engine is equipped with the TTS Torque Shift system first featured on the Tamburini, but this time mated to a full race motor. The rest of the bike features a programmable race tacho, electronic quick shifter, and many other super exotic race components and materials that combine to shed 33kg to bring the weight down to that of a racing superbike. This adds up to a top speed of 191 MPH and an incredible power to weight ratio of over 1 BHP/Kilo.

never seen that one Steve but its still not right, there's something about the old America scheme which I liked, don't even know why really as its not that pretty a bike but for some reason i've always wanted one. i even liked the magni Suzuki engine replica :eek:

MV's have always been amazing Ian, I first saw one in the metal at the Racing and Sporting Show at the Horticultural Halls in London in about 1973 or 4 ever since then its been the bike i most aspire to own, unless i win the lottery i know i'll never have an original S and even a Serie Oro is still way above my budget for a bike to ride just on sunny days ( the magnesium swingarm is very easy to damage and you don't want any road salt getting into scratches). all this chat has got me thinking about swapping the 999 again aagghh

While I was waiting on my 996R arriving, it became delayed ...... and a delivery date was not forthcoming.

In my impatient state (I'd already gotten rid of my 996bip) I decided to take a test ride on an MV F4 750.

Upon arriving at Anvils in Edinburgh, the thing was duly wheeled out. Well, there's no getting away from it - they're absolutely stunning to look at!

Mike (the salesman) put the key in and fired the MV up.

He looked a little disappointed when I told him just to turn it off and put it away just a few seconds later. "It's ok Mike, I'll wait on the Ducati"

As beautiful as the MV is, it sounds like any other 4 cylinder sports bike out there.

It's like meeting Mila Jovovich and her having a weagie accent tbh! :p

trouble with this type of bike is IF you bought it would you use it? it is "unique" in that is is zero miles so the novelty goes as soon as you fire it up and ride it. There have been a couple of Dukes in the recent past that are exactly the same. One a Hailwood from the 80's which was still in it's crate and an 851 kit with nil miles. Both wanting top dollar as they were unused. If it's going to a museum, fine, but most of us would at least want to hear the engine run........:rolleyes:
