yeah ive been and we were in the Ducati Stand. take some good walking shoes with you as you have to walk for miles from the coach drop off to the stands and then miles back again. The italians are all mad and have strimmer engines on poles with megaphone exhausts fitted.
the track invasion after the race is good but watch out for 3 wheel pizza vans running up behind you.
If your staying in florence the track is miles away and the taxis wont go any near the place as they cant get out afterwards. the roads are narrow and cars and camper vans get abandoned everywhere as they all pile into the track.
Enjoy the weekend though as its a fantastic experience.

I flew in to Pisa (nearest to Florence), but Bologna is another option - prices do vary with Mr Ryannair so worth checking prices in and out of each airport!
Might be worthwhile hiring a Ducati Monster or St for a few days, as already said, it is mayhem on race day with the narrow access roads. You could always camp!!..:flash::flash::flash:
The Italians are loopy, we witnessed a scooter having the nuts reved off it and digging a whole for itself in to the mud! And.....how about 7 on one bike! Owe and they re-paint bikes in the camp site (next to the track!) N0.46 is very popular!!!...
It's a great experience, unfortunately I cannot manage next year as it is a big birthday year for Mrs C!

I rode to Florence but had a package deal which included hotel, grandstand tickets and bus transport to and from circuit. If only for the last I recommend contacting one of the companies like http://www.polepositiontravel.com/

Glasgow Fair weekend + everything else in London for the athletes!! no coaches left, you'll just need to take the bike and tent. Mind dont set up too close to any portaloos. Unless you want a heat. Ha

Aye, certainly the way to get the full experience.
Getting a bit auld for 4 nights wi nae sleep though and short of air freighting a gennie ahead I doubt Mrs Pict would be impressed wi the hair drying / straightening / mirror facilities

Don't book too soon incase they change the date. They did last year and we had to re-book our holiday, which we got charged for.
We ordered our tickets from the Mugello website with no problems and we got in and out of Mugello (in a hire car) no bother at all, although friends we were with were waiting for about 5 hours. We were just lucky I guess.
Loved every minute!

Agree with above. I get tickets from http://www.gpticketshop.com/en/start.html sometime around Jan/Feb normally.
Have been 3 times in the car, and the worst delays I've had have been getting in from the Florence side, which took just over an hour.
This year I had approx 20 mins walk to the car park (field) and was well on the way within another 20 mins or so.
You get worse delays getting in and out of Cadwell.

Is it still summer?
Went this year but on the bike, got tickets for the Ducati grandstand via best ticket (the official seller) they won't go on sale until two months before the event and if you ride you get priority secure parking. Have a friend who lives 10 miles from Florence and the circuit so stayed with him but I think he rents the place also if interested.
Ducati tour was cancelled this year due to a private function too, also you won't get any sleep at the circuit if camping is your thing Mugello takes partying at a track to another level, cracking atmosphere though.
Just done Aragon at the weekend and it's not the same atmosphere as Mugello
