Mountain Bike Ride

i assume we are coming up, but it's the bosses decision. we need to do diy on his place, but not certain if diy can lure me away from the sight of you boys in lycra ;) :eek:

The idea is to end up in the Hub cafe, drink coffee eat cake and put back on any calories expended :) See you there.
 
Jon will be able to point you in the right direction of currently fashionable attire. The trend is to wear baggy shorts over your tights - so all you require to update your look is the shorts. But remember purple is no longer the in colour :p
 
ahh just thought id let you know ive been out 'practicing' , pileing on the road miles was out yesterday and today , ohh must have done all of 5 miles in 3 hours or sumit , soooooo unfit :rolleyes:

hi all..as mainly a mtber am lookin forward to glentress,nxt weekend..there seems to be a big contingent of people goin up there that i have spoken to,not realated to this site,just a few guys i know,but one of them is a certain moto gp rider from kendal!!,who is a good mtber as well!..
keep your eyes peeled!!

Er, who was out "training" around the peak district last weekend :) Anyway's its a slow ride, no racing , just pootling and first one back buys the coffee and cakes :)

More likely Matt or RockJock !! Anyway the last bit is that rooty downhill through the trees with the jumps, Lily was leaving me down there last time

Do you reckon he'll have Max with him then? 'Cos he'll have nothing else to pedal/peddle this year!
 
Think I may need to get Matt very drunk Friday night, at least that way he may slow up a bit, I am seriously thinking of bottling this one though, we will see ;)

You can't bottle it, it's only meant to be fun! But yes get him drunk if he's that good then I'll have a chance of winning! It's the taking part that's important anyway, isn't it?

I know, thing is, Glentress will be a 2 hour drive from here, I know I will not enjoy it as it will be the first time out on a bike in about 8 years, sorry I wheelied Gizmo's round the courtyard last Summer, what I am trying to say is that I can get up to Grizedale, in 20 mins and do my own thing, it also transpires that I 'may' have to pick a friend up from Manchester Airport that night, so things are looking doubtful for me !

Matty is coming out to play though, not sure if he is going up with JE and crew, or another bunch of lads from round here or wether he is meeting with you guys ??

He knows the details anyway so I guess it will work out one way or another !
 
I have an assorted bunch of Yorkshire hooligans coming up for the day - three hours from here, but hey it'll be a laugh! 8 years? Yes but you can balance can't you? That's all you need to be able to do. It's easy enough round there on something like the blue route. Come on, you can do it!
 
op went well scott, they managed to repair my cartiledge instead of removing it phew, turns out i ruptured my cruciate ligament as well.... :(

Final Check - is it all still on then? Is it meet in the car park and be ready to ride out at 1100? Then twenty minutes round and back for lunch....... my bunch are ready to rock......
 
RJ.... you haven't seen me have you? and I am hoping that one or two others have similar of less (I am praying here) levels of fitness than me. I'm currently refurbing my mechanical lung for the ride :(

Meet at 11, we leave 11.15 at the latest, so get there, bike ready then go and get me a large capuccino please :)
