Mountain Bike Ride

How knackered were you lot then?

I felt fine after my cafe HUB full Scottish breakfast, toast, coffee and a half mile gentle walk through the woods with my dog Jade. Back at cafe with the Sunday papers for an hour and before you know it, its 2pm!!!! ;) :D

Scott I'm as unfit as they come and it's a killer the first time, done Glentress about 4 times now, and it's still no better :p seriously I can now get round and do a full loop, something I couldn't on my first go, so I can see the benefits..

I'm slow and steady, but get there...

Just a touch of rigor mortis of the legs last night, but nothing a couple of bottles of beer lubrication couldn't put right.

Late arriving at Glentress

Kath and I had a good ride around the full blue Loop.
Unable to get away from work Sunday morning meant we arrived at Glentress after 2 pm.
Both of us were shattered from a hectic week and a 5 hour drive from Sheffield . Thru fog and held up by old men driving exceesively wide buses we finally made it. We almost fell asleep in the van as soon as we arrived...mind you , I was doing all the driving , so i don't know what Kath's excuse was!

I only had Gizmo's moby number , which he'd switched off..plus we had no idea what anyone looked like ( sounds like one of those bad planning scenarios- on our part)

So we didn't meet you guys, but the riding was spot on.
We'll be back .
next time we'll be able to put faces to names after discovering Gizmo's photo gallery.
Next time will be a caravan job aswell. drive up sat nite..chill out...wake up ...ride bike..can't wait.

Jay ( Kath's partner in crime)

BTW

Anyone fancy a box of 24 Torqbar energy bars for the knock down price of just £25 including UK delivery. £30 in shops +P+P

All profits go towards Kath's GP125 Racing career

PM me for more details

Sorry we missed you. Glad you enjoyed the cycling, though. I also managed the Blue route, which was a lot of fun and a great surprise due to my poor fitness level. Must go more often as it's just a few miles from where I live.

Do they do a decent energy drink Jay?? preferably hazelnut latte flavour but if not orange or summit similar

Alright folks,

I missed the party aswell - arrived around 1:30.... slight f-up with the transport in the morning.... ended up doing 8miles pedalling even before I left Glasgow!!!

Only saw DB, davieravie and his old dawg at the wee hub cafe prior to blasting round the blue in a good time.

Anyway - it was a good day for it - nice sticky mud!!!

Will be probably heading back on the 4th feb to do the Black run if there's any nutters up for it.

Al, good to see you yesterday. Black run, eh ? Maybe not for me, although I'd happily have another go at the Blue again.

Date-wise I'm not sure I can make the 4th, though.

4th's out for me as well, I fly out to Spain 6 Am next morning suspension testing so bike and kit will be packed into its flight case :( Could maybe do 25th feb as was suggested earlier??

Why do you have to go to Spain to test a mountain bike, ruts not good enough here in dear Old Blighty?......surely this trip smells of a managerial junket to me Michael ;) ;) :canada:

Oh, i'll ask the fork manufacturers to fly 10 technicians, engineers and marketing people to the UK to see one customer in the UK and then to have the testing washed out :) I wish it was an easy one Davie but despite seeming glamorous it'll be long days and hard work, well thats what I tell everyone anyway :)

Can't do the 4th myself, any other time should be OK take the DSC AGM out of the equation too :twak: :furious: :twak:

4th of Feb ride

Kath and I can't make the 4th Feb ride. We've been invited to race a couple of Go-karts on an outdoor tarmac track. ACE!

GIZMO , I'll be looking into that Latte flavoured energy drink for you. Torq say they're about to release a new range of drinks. I'll put forward your suggestion, tho' i fear you may have to settle for Orange!

Have fun in Spain Giz. Kath and I are hoping to get to Southern France (Ledenon) or Spain ( Almeria) mid Feb to Test the HRC machine.;-)

hmmmmmm,

Unfortunately 25th Feb is out for me since i'll be away snowboarding that weekend (unless there aint any of the white stuff!!).....

Bit of a long way for us lot, although we did enjoy the day out! Our calendar has been drawn up for the year now and doesn't leave us many free dates. We are up for the weekend in April I believe and are planning to do all 7 Staines in the two days. Good to meet you guys anyway, see you out on the road later this year. Got some good video footage if you want to see it!
