I see that next year's Motogiro Race (not a real race) is being held from 24-30 May and goes to Sardinia. It is primarily a classic bike event but any make of bike can take part in the tourist class if you just want to go along for the scenery and the fun. Having taken part in this year's inaugural event I can recommend it. It is a much cheaper alternative to the Motogiro and is run by Club Terni.
