If it was better they'd be using it in motogp regardless of cost
It's better on narley b roads by far, but they don't race Moto GP on narley b roadsIf it was better they'd be using it in motogp regardless of cost
I've never ridden a bike with centre hub but reading about people that say it's so much better than telescopic forks in racing is an eye opener!! Imo it comes down to money and the main elephant in the room, CHANGE!!It's better on narley b roads by far, but they don't race Moto GP on narley b roads![]()
They ran out of money with the elf but it wasn't far off podiums - imagine if that development had carried on for the next 50 yearsI've never ridden a bike with centre hub but reading about people that say it's so much better than telescopic forks in racing is an eye opener!! I remember watching the Elfs as a kid and i had a poster of it.They ran out of money with the elf but it wasn't far off podiums - imagine if that development had carried on for the next 50 years![]()
Am I the only person on here that likes Marquez? The guy is class.![]()
I think the whole grid should call the season off as its won the championship already!!
That would be greatI’d like to see him win every race through the season.
Hats off to Zarco on the Honda though great result.
I know. Wayne would be made up.That would be great![]()
I will be honest and i have no interest in it, that bubble has burst for me, a shame really as you reflect on the glory day's!! It all just seems wooden with no soul or heart, a real shame imo!!I know. Wayne would be made up.![]()
I used to dislike him as he was a dirty rider and would intentionally hit other riders to get ahead, usually causing them to go down, I was so happy when he messed with Rossi and ended up on the ground, just too bad it cost Vale the title. Now he has returned and appears to be more mature, just hope he does not dominate like he did at Honda, made for boring racesAm I the only person on here that likes Marquez? The guy is class.![]()
Good call.. he was a bully of a rider and I doubt that will change no matter how much he matures but credit where it's due, he did change the face of motogp when he debuted and everyone, including rossi had to lift their game and adapt. one of the things i liked most about rossi, was his ability to adapt and still be in the mix despite he being many years older than the bulk of the field. Unfortunately every dog has his day and the future of motogp was/is out of his hands.( if you forget about the vr46 academy) Despite what sone say, I don't think that is a bad thing. There is so much talent in the field now it's insane. Sure it may be lacking a singular focal point or hero as no one has stepped up to fill rossi's boots but as individuals, the talent is immense.I used to dislike him as he was a dirty rider and would intentionally hit other riders to get ahead, usually causing them to go down, I was so happy when he messed with Rossi and ended up on the ground, just too bad it cost Vale the title. You have to shit on a few to get to the top in all walks of life, Rossi was always likeable so got away with stuff others may not.I liked Rossi as most people did/do but he was no angel either.
Don't know much about f1 or that incident but you are definitely right about having to shit on people to get to the top.You have to shit on a few to get to the top in all walks of life, Rossi was always likeable so got away with stuff others may not.
Schumacher crashing into Damon Hill purposely springs to mind![]()

Most world champions, in any sport, are where they are by being ruthless and never holding themselves responsible. They will blame the team, their equipment, the opposition but never themselves. That's the way you have to be to make it to number one..nice guys finish last and even if your hero in sport appears to be nice, he ain't..
Not sure.. if you follow motogp , there still is alot of comradery, yes it's dog eat dog but they do look out for each other, it's more when they are in the running for top spot that all bets are off..the various camps have their allegiances but when you are a contender, it's tunnel vision. It's interesting listening to F1 drivers of the 60s and 70s (and probably earlier). Each season they would lose maybe 10-20% of drivers to crashes, and they had a group comraderie - probably because of the shared grief. They were nearly all pals; families holidaying together, and helping each other out if one was laid up with broken limbs and things.
As you say, it's much more ruthless now - and it's not because the stakes are higher...only the money is. Back then there was a huge potential for theirs or their pals death every time they raced. I know current drivers have some friendships, but probably not how they were back then.
Schumacher and Hill were racing for the championship, Schumacher pulled ahead but then went wide onto the verge/grass, Hill caught up abd Schumacher (quite probably) deliberately blocked him making Hill hit Schumacher's car essentially putting them both out and giving Schumacher the championship - shrewd but dirty moveDon't know much about f1 or that incident but you are definitely right about having to shit on people to get to the top.

I don't watch it anymore and in all my days i never thought i would say that!! BSB is the same, WSBK is the way to go now and hoping that will get back to the glory days of the 80s when it was more popular then Grand prix motorcycle racing!! I have noticed that Quest channel is starting to cover it as it's Eurosports sister channel. Motogp is boring and track attendances have crashed, numbers are down and i'm sure that Dorna are in panic mode imo.
