Monsters?

I have put my triumph on eBay as I am looking to get another Ducati.
Maybe fancy a monster...I had an old m600 a few years back and it was a great wee bike, but a bit under powered.
My budget of around £3500 ( if triumph sells) would get me an s2r 800,
M900/1000, or an s4.
I particurarly like the styling of the s2r but not sure if it would be powerful enough?
Would it be much different from the m900/1000?
I take it the s4 is a totally different animal?

Any thoughts or experiences welcome
 
the newer 800 motor makes the same power/torque as the older design 900 injection motor

and im sure the newer 1000 motor makes about the same as the older S4 (916) motor though in a different way

I would go for the newer s2r or a 1000 2 valve as the newer and more refined motors and cheaper to run
 
I have the S2R 800 and it's a great bike to ride but I think you'd maybe find it a bit underpowered. Jumping from the S2R to the 848 is a bit of a culture shock - both brilliant bit in totally different ways.

I wanted to buy an S4 but it was too heavy for me. Well worth considering an S4 if you like the Monster but want more power.:thumbs:
