I`ve decided to sell my S2R1000 Monster,
unfortunately arthritis is making it painful to ride and its got to the stage where I am avoiding riding it , this morning for example I made a conscious decision to take the much more comfy Moto Guzzi.
It is a very wonderful bike, quite possibly the most enjoyable bike I`ve ever ridden, obviously not the best at anything in particular but way more than the sum of its parts and it really is full of that elusive character we all want from a Ducati. Its a 2005 bike and I`ve had it about 3.5 years , it has FSH including a belt service 600 miles ago in April. Mechanically it is superb, cosmetically not immaculate but still very good . MOT to next April and just 12000 miles covered. HPI clear of course. The only bad things I can think of is that the front tyre probably has less than 2000 miles to go and the back brake is all you`d expect of a Ducati.
It has a carbon exhaust and an open clutch cover . I fitted bar risers to help a little with the arthritis but they don`t make enough difference. All standard parts will be included and a paddock stand too. I have 2 black keys, 1 red key, the code card and all the books.
I`ll take some more pics over the weekend, these are just a couple of old ones I have for now . Please note that the ugly "udder" on the exhaust is now gone and it is a full aftermarket system in place. Sounds much better and more oopmh too.
While there seem to be quite a number of the 800cc versions, are very few of these 1000cc bikes abou so they are rarely available. I can find just 2 others on the internet now, both on Ebay. One @ £5799 from a dealer, very low mileage of just 2000 and totally standard, the other is high mileage , 40000 and @ £4995, also from dealer and also a standard bike.
Bearing this in mind I think I`ll put mine on Autotrader @ £4995 in a few days but if anyone on here is interested then £4650 is absolute rock bottom.
