House sale gone through so looking to buy a new bike.....Having never had a brand new bike can anyone tell me why I should go for the S model...The old ST2 is sold at 2k still have 1k to come from 748 sale and ducati are doing 0 percent on new bikes with free termis and ecu fitted, so is it S or standard model???:D

if you buy the "s" model i don't think you will ever wish you had bought the standard version, however, if you buy the standard version you may wish in a few months that you'd spent the extra and bought the "S"

Hi Bruce,
Depends on your riding style and would you benefit from the more costly ohlins however the added extras amount to a lot more than than price difference so I would personally opt for the 's' model.

I would buy the 'S' model, mainly because I like the look of gold forks :D

Also, I once bought a new Aprilia RSV 1000 and opted to get the 'cooking' version, which I subsequently regretted when I realised (as Geoff states above) how much of a good deal these packages of suspension/carbon usually are vs buying the parts individually.

I've ridden both bikes and there is no real difference between them.. However as already mentioned I would buy the M1100s as I too prefer the gold coloured forks etc. The standard M1100 is a little plain looking compared.. Both are exactly the same to ride and feel etc... With all the bits & bobs you mention then at the moment the M1100s is the better option...

Thanks for the input

Thanks, I have spoken to Ducati Glasgow and going up there tommorrow to see what they can offer...Like all of you I agree that the S model would make more sense in view of the price difference and the extras
Cheers
Bruce:D
