Sorry..........cant tell you much about the show. My jaw is still on the ground in awe.

The venue, the displays, the off road events, the exhibitors. All together makes the NEC seem like a squalid side show. I really dont want to be anti NEC I really want to say that the NEC is good but different, but its not. It is horrible in comparison. Sorry.

Milan cost me £35 return air fare thanks to RyanAir
Hotel cost me £70 for two nights (1/3 share) a magnificent Four star
entry to the show was £8.00
A 40ml Beer........in a glassglass and nice crusty fresh baguette cost £5
The next day we visited the Duomo and enjoyed the beauty of the rest of Milan

I met many wonderful people, the Italians at the show, were far more polite, no pushing no shoving.........oh apart from some Welsh idiot behind me effing and blinding trying to break a queue to get a stand.

Later Dancing till 2.00am with great friends and Italian women. We all got very drunk. There is something really nice about having fun with people from another nation, that dont speak the same language.

UK I want to leave you. I think you are Bust and Bereft. You are a slob. I live in beautiful Yorkshire and I love everything about the place, so am I being unfair? But I dont think that as a nation we share other europeans sense of family closeness. As a result our youth culture is a disgrace. We have no finesse.

Sorry, not much about Ducati here. But more, the passion of my motorcycle, the reason I love my ducati, the reason I love motorcycling has left me considering my place in life, and where I really want to be.

PS I do not for a minute deny that every nation has its social problems. It has been a long time since I walked freely round streets with families, children and laughter. and you know what? So many coke and chocolate machines...........not one vandalised.

I think you sum up quite nicely what so many of us feel about this country and where it is rapidly headed - it comes up in so many conversations I have had with friends recently. I did my first track day abroad at Valencia in April - I came back so unsettled that I resolved to start learning Spanish with view to selling up and quitting this country. The infra-structure is falling apart, values are practically destroyed and we have the impertinence to refer to Spain as one of the 'poorer' EU countries. The roads I saw put ours to shame and Knockhill is a joke compared to facilities in Spain. You've re-inforced my conclusions about the future here. We've lost the plot.

On a brighter note, its great that Ducati is in the spotlight at Milan, so favourably, I wish I had been there, maybe next time. :)

your liking of italy is so true. i sometimes feel britain is hampered by our sharing of a common language with america, which has done so much to pull us down to our present levels. because we have so much in common with them and they seem so happy to share it with us, their music, their culture? and theyre fast food outlets.
apart from the dodgy music they give our kids and the need for them to dress like a gangsta. the most contemptible thing theyve done in my opinion. is to convince men, that a sports coat and jeans can be worn together. its just a no no and should only ever be done by jeremy clarckson and damned americans. and no there is no such things as dress jeans either. if they cost you £150 for a pair, it just means you or someone you know shops in shops with very big windows.

Must agree totally. I lived and worked in Oviedo, Asturias, Spain and the family closeness is very important. It's safe to walk the streets, no fighting and no agressive nature.
