Midgie masher 2018 , Fort William, 24 - 26 August

What's everyone's plans for riding up next Friday?
I should be leaving Stirling about 4pm if that suits anyone to meet and ride up together?

I’m planning to spend the day getting there by running up through Comrie, Kenmore, Calvine etc and coming into FW from Spean Bridge. However, if plan goes tits up or it’s rubbish weather may see you in Stirling

Robbie, Stirling 4pm looks ok as I’ll be tied up to at least 3:30pm due to grand-daughter collect from school duties  I’ll contact Sandy and see if that suits him.

Better forecast on Saturday though, hope to get through early ish Saturday morning & join you all for breakfast, fingers crossed..🤞

Change of plan for me, looks more likely I will be leaving at 3pm now and there are a couple of stops off the main road i need to make on the way up which will delay me slightly so I will just make my own way up and see you in Fort William.

Ride safe guys

I'll see you all when I get there. I'll be leaving mid-morning, going the long road (for me) via Crianlarich and picking up a few Desmo Challenge checkpoints on the way. I expect to arrive at the hotel mid to late afternoon.

, been trying that, Robbie has passed the hotel no. To me, whereas I thought the sdc could sort that for me. I might be quickly changing my thoughts Chiz

Hold on a second Johny I think that comment is massively unfair on the sdc committee and if I was still involved and on the committee I would be royally unhappy with it.

the masher has been planned for months. The bookings closed ages ago.
you ask if there's spaces available the day before the event and expect the committee to sort you out with a room?
Maybe if you had asked last week perhaps when Dave put the call out that there was a cancellation. But one day? No chance.

They've got other things going on in their personal lives and also other stuff to sort out. Perhaps if I was still on board I might have looked into it for you but that's because we are friends so it would be a personal favour I did to you.

The committee this year don't really know you, you've only just renewed your membership after an absence. They don't owe you anything so as I said......... to expect them to sort something out for you today for the weekend is massively unfair.

Why is it unfair , when I’ve asked you and committee members to help sort it out, rather than me call a hotel. Yes the bookings closed , but yer club has passed me onto the hotel. But Hilary, but Hilary. . Poor show Robbie , renewal , sad a member is a member
. people have things, blah Aye me too. . Do you know what Robbie...

You're barking up the wrong tree mate.

I have absolutely no idea why you asked me to help as I am just a regular club member just like you these days so very little I could do to help.

Again another comment that I think is wholly unfair. Yep everyone has things. But who's things involve running the club on a voluntary basis. No pay. No bonus or rewards. Nothing gained. Only personal time lost organising things for the club and other people. Altruism.
It's flippant comments like this that when the committee members read they think why do I even bother, and then don't stand for a position the following year ) then guess what happens.
No committee
therefore
No club.

Jeez here we go again, this is a motorcycle forum for people with an interest in bikes, correct me if I'm wrong but for the last few days we have had nothing but bickering...life is too short for this lads, can we just enjoy the forum once again PLEASE.

It's easy to say that when you aren't involved in the running of the club.

Robbie it was very easy to say, & yes I have nothing to do with running the club, i take my hat off to those that give up their time to do so...but..why all the hassle, Chiz seemed justified in his being a tad miffed withDG but that is all sorted ( sort of)now I agree with you on the hotel issue so that's all in the past, so now we all have a good weekend & next week hopefully every in the SDC's garden is rosey..happy days..

It's not in the past the hotel issues

It's about the booking for the masher not chizs bike problems
