Massage Parlours

That got you looking!

Well this morning I had my first session with a sports masseur. Having (big style) binned it on the mountain bike way back in March and put up with the hassle of a knackered shoulder since, I decided finally that I wasn't immune to a bit of TLC. If you've never had sports massage and grinned through the pain barrier then this comes recommended. For twelve weeks now I have had the constant niggly pain, inability to get comfortable, either motor biking, MTBing, working or even sleeping properly. To say there was no pain this morning would be an understatement - I had to ask him to stop three times - what a wuss! He found knotty tissue, tensions, old spanners (joke) and all kinds of things needing attention. BUT - the day has gone well, still sore, still stiff but infinitely better already. Booked in for another session Tuesday.

I suppose it's a sign of age after all - he said when you're young your muscles are elastic, when you're older they become plastic!

who did you go to? I have a very good friend who is a sports masseur from Pately bridge and has a room at Dacre. i was gonna suggest her to you for you and your buddies.

ive had a few massages down the years.when i have spare cash and time i treat myself to the floatarium in stockbridge in edinburgh and recently ive had the odd sports massage as well.both work but on different levels the ordinary massage leaves you relaxed and incredibly at ease with the world the sports massage works on a much deeper level really digging deep at the root of problems so to speak.before anybody says ive never had the other type of massage that involves dirty women etc im far to tight to pay for that.
those that know me,will agree im a little bit of a cynic but i find massage and also acupuncture really work and would recomend it to anyone with niggling to serious pain ;)

Can back up every claim made here. Had one massage at the Flotarium....was a bit worried as it was a big German bloke....Felt great after a couple of days. More recently tried an Ayerverderic (spl) Indian massage which involved lots of oil and slapping. There is another place down by the Hockey club in Stockbridge which is very good. A girl had me walking perfectly only a day after doing the Great North run a couple of years ago. I had thought I would never walk again. Deep tissue do hurt a hell of a lot tho............................ Just reread this, it sounds like I spend all my spare time and cash in massage parlours.....;)

The usual thing - I was intending to get around to ask anyone for recommendations, then a "flyer" popped through the door. A quick phone call and it turned out to be one of my customers! We haven't yet struck a deal, but some Indian trading could be on the cards! Thanks anyway - some of my riders live over that way so she could still be useful.

s'funny you should say that - just ploughing my way through a flagon of "Highland Spring"! It says it's genuine and the label reads "from the scottish highlands, pure and simple". But it could be describing the locals!:D

That's the english edition Pete, they didn't want to put anything on the label to confuse you lot ;)

If I've learnt anything useful over the past few years its:
Have a Turkish haircut,
Ride an Italian bike,
Have a Russian Masseuse,
Ride the Scottish Highlands and the welsh bends,
drink Irish Stout,
Eat Indian curries,
marry an english rose,
wear Australian leathers,
drive an american car (subjective),

Oh yeah, support Brazil.:D

Had another session today, rode out tonight and the shoulder feels really good. A long way to go I suspect but definitely going the right way. Should at least have a fighting chance of a good weekend.
