Cheque posted and Barry apologised to. Thanks again Jon. Am late with everything this month, only just posted my vat cheque which they should have had last week. Just got back from my walk to post box to find Lisa has booked 4 flights to Portugal for us in July. Very nice til I realised shes used my credit card! (she knows the girl at the flight place)

Not the first time its been late, done the usual putting a date from over a week ago on the cheque and form etc. So can try the must have been lost in the post excuse if theres any comeback.

A few years ago I sent my vat return in with an accidentally on purpose unsigned cheque knowing at that time I would not have enough in to cover the vat until a few days later when I would receive some large payments from customers. The logic being vat would send the cheque back to me to sign and send back, the whole thing taking a few days allowing me to pay money into my account to cover it. Dozy people at the other side never noticed it was unsigned and my even dozier bank cashed the cheque even though it had no signature! Then my bank charged me for going overdrawn! Was a bit embarrasing having to ring the bank to tell em off for charging me for them banking said cheque. Course the person who I spoke to wanted to know how I knew the cheque was unsigned! Did get the charges refunded in the end though. :)

Hope theres nobody on here from the VAT office?
