I've noticed you've recommended a place in Colne for a respray and that you ride a Multistrada 1000ds. I live in Burnley and have a Multistrada 1000ds (just bought) and I am going up to the Orkneys next Sunday for a week to see my brother who's well into BM's, sad. I might let him have a go on my bike. Have you got any tips about the bike ? I am getting the ferry from Aberdeen. I have been earlier this year but it was on my 749. He wouldn't have a go on that as he was frightened he might enjoy himself too much ! You only live once was my reply. Then he asked me to overtake him so he could hear the Termi. I blasted past at about 130mph (it was perfectly safe - long straight no one else around, no lamp posts or walls etc.). The grin on his face. Still wouldn't have a go though.

Not sure where MH is, I am sure he s fine, last heard of persuing a dream ;)

have you got heated grips on the multi? they are well worth adding for winter riding, i've also just got a heated waistcoat and wired that in, it makes a big difference keeping you warm, did a trip down to south wales a few weeks ago and even late at night on a cold evening i didn't get the shivers.

the lights n the multi aren't brilliant, i'd try and keep the majority of your riding to daylight hours, better to start early than do the last section in the dark.

coat bike in scotoiller 365 anti corrosion stuff, add a scotoiller to lube the chain, fender extenda and my latest aquistion, the rubber footpeg kit ( cuts vibration and stops my winter boots slipping off the pegs)

Where abouts do you live. Just curious as you mentioned Colne and last Sunday I saw a Multi rider going along Colne Road, Burnley by the Praire lights. just wondering if it was you. I thought I was the only Multi in the village !

Cheers Gizmo. I've got a Scott Oiler, Ducati panniers and hand guards. I think I've taken this touring lark up at the wrong time of the year. Seriously though I went to the Orkneys in early Feb. this year on my 749 with my little lad on the back and we had the chemical heat pads in our gloves and boots and we were really warm. They lasted well past 8 hours. I've also just bought an intercom system (a bit expensive) which I tried out with my lad on the back last week going down to NEC. Needs a bit of tweeking , otherwise it's good.

I live up near Edge End School, was probably me you saw if it was a black un? My mate (big Tom, you may know him?) lives up Reedley Drive so I may have been on my way there. Sure I 'spoke' to you once on Multistrada.net? I saw a red one in Nelson last week which is the first one I have seen round here in 3 years!

I went to Edge End. Mine's a red Multi and I was at Pendle motorcycles last week so it might have been me you saw. Going up to the Orkneys on Sunday on it. I hope the weather forecast is wrong they've predicted heavy snow on Saturday !
