A sad sad loss of a blossoming talent . Side Show Bob, I don't think Motogp will be the same without you upsetting the current snotty nosed front 4.

Totally shocked at this news, haven't seen the race, can't believe this news, so sad, a true talent who will be sadly missed!!!

My thoughts are with Edwards as well he must feel terrible, even knowing their was nothing he could do and if Rossi hadn't somehow managed to stay up he could easily have ridden over the top of Colin as well - a horrible reminder that when it all goes wrong it really does go horribly wrong.
 
Watched the crash & just knew it was going to be a bad one. You could see all the riders in the pits knowing it was only going to be bad news. Really gutted for Marcos family & friends. Edwards had no place to go once that Honda went down right infront of him. SO SAD NEWS for the biking world

Having seen the accident I not surprised by his subsequent death but feel quite shocked by it. R.I P.Marco
 
Shit news. He will be missed. He was one of the few, current, MotoGP riders that had any character.

Was watching the race live and the minute I seen it I thought he was a gonner was quite surprised when they said he was conscious. I know he got hit hard but there's no way his helmet should of came off. Anyone agree
 
This is so sad.

Am a huge simoncelli fan have been since his 250's days, totally gutted, couldn't believe what i was watching was just expecting an injury update and the race to resume.
Bit freaked out by it all athe moment as i have a replica simoncelli helmet as part of my gear. The misses and my brother think it may be a bad omen, and to be honest i just dont know whether to retire the helmet as i dont want to look like some kinda macarbe tribute act' its a difficult one?

Kinda weirded out by it all i think...

Its one of those horrible 'law of unintended consequence' things - any one else would have lost the front and spun out to the side with the bike - he was a big strong fella and wast trying to save it, back tyre bites and spits him in front of Edwards and Rossi, so sad. I wonder if the big hair meant his helmet wasn't as snug as it could have been and the force of the impact did the rest - not sure how a double d ring chin strap fails though. Whatever, a really horrible crash and a sad loss to motorcycling, RIP Marco.

Im a big simoncelli fan too mate. Im truly gutted as i felt he was one of the best riders in a long long time to ride moto gp. I nearlly bought his replica helmet last month but managed to get one of the new rossi elements helmets instead.

Dont retire his helmet mate, i for one dont wanna forget him and his impact on motogp and seeing someone wearing his helmet is a great tribute to him. I may even buy one myself so use on my monster as i love gp techs anyway. (already got a donkey lid too).

RIP to great guy.

As his lid rolled away onto the grass you could see the strap was still fastened at the middle, but was only attached at one side of the lid. It looks like the strap broke at the internal fixing point, maybe after getting hooked up on Edwards foot peg?

Anyway, a terrible loss of an entertaining & talented rider. RIP Marco.
 
RIP Simo..... tragic loss to Moto GP. Thoughts and prayers to all those effected by the very sad news.
 
Just seen the news,I've been avoiding it all morning to watch later,sick to the pit of my stomach,what a loss to the sport...really really sad.

For once we are in complete agreement.

Switched the TV on to catch the start before heading out to ikea to help my mate get some stuff. Saw what happened.
Wandering round ikea on a sunday morning isnt good at the best of times. Found myself wandering around in a daze, ended up sitting on a bed for about 10 mins just to let it all sink in.
Still hasnt really.
Gutted.

My heart goes out to his friends and family. A talented young rider, only 24, who was a real character. R.I.P. Marco

I also feel for Colin Edwards who tried so hard to avoid him.
