Mad March Mini Mega Meet

Weather permitting I am up for it, might be the first time out on the bike this year the way things are going.

Ian I will text you for my weekend weather forecast of the area on the day !!

Pete, should I strap that MTB to my back and you can carry it home !

Right, anyone from Leedsish area wanting to go in convey, I plan to be at Ducati Leeds at a time to be confirmed, prolly 9.00am, then all being we'll ride thru to Harrogate to meet Rockjock and others, then take in some superb roads Via Ripon, Masham, Richmond, Barnardcastle and ultimately Hartside. return route will be up to individuals although we will prolly come back Via Penrith, Shap, Kendal then down the A65.
 
Any of the Jocks want to meet up at Abington before heading down B7076/M74-M6 and then leaving motorway at Penrith or a wee bit further north an pick up the A6????

Guess 9.30 to 10 would be an ok meet up time...

If you're going down the A6 from carlisle I could meet you where it leaves the M6 - there's a layby just after you tun off. About 10.45 ?
 
BTW, clocks go forward on Sunday 30th, so everyone go to bed an hour earlier and change clock B4 you do so, OK? ;)

Weather dependant I might venture out and meet you at DL BP. I'll try and remember to drop you a text 1st on Saturday though..

Could hook up with you around about Lockerbie if you want? Probably about 10.30ish. Then meet up with DB on the A6.
 
The weather forecast does not look promising for the whole weekend, for a change !!
 
OK, proposed timetable for guys heading down from Scotland. We can meet up at Abington services, aim to leave Abington by 10. head down to Lockerbie.

Meet with Dunclivvy and any others somewhere on the B7076 as it bypasses Lockerbie at 1030ish. Does anyone know if there is a layby or anything like that on this stretch???

Carry on down the B7076 until Gretna.

Pick up the A74/M6 until J42 exit.

Aim to meet Borderduc at the services as you join the A6 off J42 (as suggested by Gizmo) at 11ish.

Any thoughts?????

In case anyone was wondering how far this is likely to be in total....


250 ish miles round trip from Glasgow/Edinburgh.

That sounds good to me Paul. I can't remember if there is a lay by on the B7076 Lockerbie bypass. It is just about as quick to go through Lockerbie and there is a petrol station (BP I think) near the bottom end of Lockerbie on the right hand side. Can I suggest this as a meeting place?
 
i'll be at the M6/A6 around 11.

As you pass Lockerbie you take a left back onto the B7606 ( around the junction with 74) , i'm pretty sure there is either a layby or drive where you can park near that left turn .....

Ok meet you at the petrol station. Check on here before you leave. My gear is drying out after a total drenching on a run to DG today.......:( :( :(

:( Not gonna be able to make it folks. Unforseen circumstances cropped up about 30 mins ago, got soaked today too which had already got me thinkin of aborting. Don't know if anyone was planning on going to DL? had a text from Samieb to say he's not coming.

Sorry folks :(
