Right guys, i met this woman at the racing on sunday, shes raising funds for a childrens hospital and orphanage in gwalior in india.
She told me some horrific things that go on there, from kids chained inside cages, to being mutilated and made to beg and other horror stories.
Now usually im not into charity things, but this sounds like it is actually making a difference to kids lives, so i said id put up a poster in the shop and tell you guys about it.
Basically its a festival that started last year and raised £5000 then and shes hoping to do better this year.
its in a feild next to her house, between gifford and haddington on july 1st. From 1pm till late (6am last year) camping available at £5 per tent. There is an entrance fee of £10 per adult £5 for 12-16 yr olds under 12`s free.
There are umpteen live bands coming(11) to play, a couple of whom are playing t in the park, with sounds from ska to rock music so something for everyone.there will be belly dancers (something for scott then) a free dance workshop and fire eaters, tombolla and tea, coffee, and food available. There will also be a bar but there is no problems with taking your own.
Last year she had a lot of support from various local bike groups and is hoping to get more this year.
I dont know if anybody would want to go to this or perhaps a group of folk might want to make it part of a weekends riding or what , but i thought id let you know.
