Laverda concessionaire 1976

One of the Laverda historians is trying to track down the Laverda concessionaire in 1976 when the Jota was released. He has a grainy photograph of a bike in 76 with a sign in front of it and the following words are partially legible the ??? indicate what isn't.

I think the phone number is Edinburgh which probably started 031 in those days, does anyone recall a Laverda dealer in Edinburgh at that time or got bike mags from then which might have adverts in?

I'm not certain, but I think the dealer was Scotbike - sadly long gone I believe

I don't know who the Edinburgh dealer was but I'm sure the concessionaire then was Slater Brothers.

My 3c was a 76 so it had wire wheels twin brembos and a drum rear which was great cos you could take the rear wheel out and leave the chain and sprocket in place. Lightweight If I remember right mine was about 244 kilos + liquids

I had a rummage through some of my old Bike mags last night. Slater Bros were definitely the concessionaires from 1975 - I could find no mention of any others. I didn't find the copy with the Jota test although it will be there somewhere. Unlike other importers, Slater seem to have only advertised themselves with no mention of their approved dealers (were there any?)
