Just got me a great new bit of kit. One of my mountain bike reps was round the other day and I noticed his company did a Kriege Rucksack/Hydration pack thingy. Asked if it was the same as the motor bike company and he said yes. A quick scan of the cataloge showed this beasty. 3mm thick neoprene, zipped two thirds around, stretchy to fit, with a shoulder carry strap, it carries a full size lid completely safely. It's a perfect way to protect your expensive lid from scratches, knocks and bumps when off the bike. Not got an idea of price yet (I get it at trade anyway:) ) but will let you know. I will also post a pic when I can figure out how to do this. It has a "recommended by RiDe" sticker too!
 
I was up at Gericke in Preston and they had them in, its like, well a gimp mask for your helmet, looks a bit dodgy but a good bit of kit. I think it was about £25.00 but well worth it.
 
Does the Gimp mask need eyeholes? If not, then you're right it's dual purpose.............. £25 sounds about right.......
