Knockhill "Off" Disaster

Guys, just catching up with the forum for first time after last weeks DG tracknight and looking at the photos.
Had a great night right up until last 5 minutes when was kncocked off at the hairpin.
That's me on the red multistrada doing the gymnastics!
From the pictures I can understand why my bikes left side is a mess but my right shoulder and elbow are on fire.
Worst thing was the ride back to the pits on the "trailer of shame".
Many thanks to the two guys in the pit lane who helped tape all the broken bits together so I could ride home. Wasn't thinking straight enough at the time to get your names or say thanks.
Trip home seemed to last forever.
Anyway, good news is that the damage is limited to the plastics, 'bars and mirrors etc. so should get all back in place for the summer.
Bad news is my brother and I were planning a few days this week, ending with a night with Edward on the Black Isle. Sorry Edward but we'll book another date later in the year.

Anyway, that was my third tracknight and I love them. To be honest I will have to think hard about doing another but we all know there is a risk when we sign up and the benefits definitely outweigh the risks.

PS. one of those shots of me going a*** over t** - how big does my bum look in those jeans!!!! ;)
 
Glad to hear you got home safely and that you have taken such a positive view of the whole thing.:)

Hope you get the bike fixed soon.:D

And by the way your bum looks fine.:eek: :D ;)
 
Glad things turned out not too bad John. I was only watching and not on track but followed you away from knockhill in my car. The bike seemed to be riding not too bad so glad to hear you got home safe and sound!

Advertise on here what plastics you need, one or two of the DD guys might have a few spare panels.......

Plastics mend far quicker than skin and bone :thumbs:
 
...well I reckon that one of you let the cat out the bag that I spit in my guests' porridge and John crashed his Multi as part of an elaborate plan to get out of coming up here!!!! :p ;)

I was one of the guys who helped with the tape and I'm glad to hear you got back ok. How was that gear lever on the way home?

Edward, it was the porridge everyone said was the highlight.
Been in touch with the photographer, reckon I can get the photos worked on to look at least mildly spectacular.

Great to hear you made it all the way back home without any further "adventures".... and more so that you have no injuries. As said many times on here rather the bike than the rider.

I'd get the best photie enlarged hugely, framed and hung pride of place on the wall in the dining room;) (and as Mary says your bum didn't look big either:D )
 
glad to hear that you are ok. i crashed my 999 last year at knockhill. i wasnt knocked off (it was all me own fault!), but i have a sense of your frustration. good luck getting it fixed. it will soon be a distant memory.
