Five months almost to the day since my off I have today received a cheque for, and therefore authorisation to do, the repairs to the bike. Compensation, clothing, expenses to be settled in due course. :)

Sorry Pete either I didn't know you had an incident or with age forgot!
Clearly not good and trust you are now ok or getting back to full fitness.
Best wishes belatedly ! (or again if I forgot :o)

I am pleased to hear that. Shame it took so long for insurers to cough.

Ducati John very busy at the moment; he may have space to do your bike come Autumn.

Many people knew but quite a few clearly didn't.

Back in October several of us had pitched up from here to attend TWPD's funeral. On the way home I was brought down by a runaway lurcher dog that had escaped from under the "control" of the huntmaster. Paramedic attended, police, recovery, the works really. Fully and reliably witnessed. Bike well bust (£6k was what I just received) me fair beaten up as well. I had good solicitors (specialist motor cycle dudes - recommended) the other side had a pedantic and recalcitrant insurance agency. They have now accepted full liability. ,I have ongoing problems with my shoulder/arm, nothing broken but the whole shebang was strained, ripped, bruised tendons and ligament damage to boot. It still hurts even now and long term concerns and prognosis are imminent, but having had injuries like this from ski-ing and mountain biking I know it isn't going to be quick.

As you well know, the thought of you in pain always makes me smile and id just like to point out that you would have been better off breaking bones rather than tearing muscles etc.
as usual my best wishes mate, if only these tears were of sympathy lol :lol2:

good to hear it is eventually getting sorted out Pete, after 5 months. Just about to put in a wee claim for the car and if it takes that long to come through the car will have rusted itself to pieces by then!!!!

Hopefully you will get the rest sorted out a bit more promptly and be back on the road sooner rather than later :)

Glad your on the mend & the bike could be on the mend to.
I'm the same as everyone else & did not know about the off.

Pete,

Glad you've got a resolution. No pun intended but I hope you didn't have to hound them too much to get the cash out of them.

And now you've got your cheque can I have your Midgie Masher payment, please ?

My bones are way too hard to break mate. If only I'd been wearing lycra............ May the rest of your life be filled with blood and pain :) Thanks you old goat.

Ever the opportunist David :) But that money is destined for Ducati John. I'll get it sorted soon. Hounded was the word - "pester power" was needed, but at least they have accepted full liability.

Good news, at last, Pete. I thought DB might get the 'hound' bit in. I was going to say I'm glad you got the claim hunted down but I'm not DB so won't mention it.;):D

Pete, didn't know. Get well soon.
Hope your sat nav wasn't damaged.
Alan
